I'm going to wait for the aftermarket screen and stereo that has to be in the works that will fill in that cubby hole. Most likely 6-12 months away.
That's what I was thinking, on the BMW I3 they have some tiny 6 inch infotainment unit or an awesome 10.25 inch option and it's basically a plug -n - play swap to the larger unit.

Would be interesting to see how you use another amp with your B&O system.
The B&O systems in the 2018 and up Fords use a serial digital protocol to between the ACM and the amplifier, so simply replacing the amp is not an option. PAC is releasing the AP4-FD31 as an interface module to allow seamless integration of an aftermarket amplifier.

tbh the back woofer is super wimpy. the real power of the B & O is the middle console speaker. the treble is very clear and the low end response is great.

I wish they had this when I had my Lexus LS460, the ML went out, and had to find a used one.

Well, I have the B&O and for my daily commute and other travels I am happy with it. I am beyond all the amps and 12''s in a box stuff. That little sub in the back is a good balance for my listening pleasure. Nothing else needed!

So the B&O system still uses the same crappy paper cones from the looks of this?? They just added amps and more speakers? Can someone with the B&O please just take a peek at the door speakers for us? I got the B&O but might be tempted to drop some nice speakers in since I already have the wiring and amps.

Best look I've seen of the B&O amp and sub located behind the rear bench seat.

Did you find the surround sound selection buried in the settings? Mine came with the stereo mode selected.

I did my install this weekend. Your assessment of it just being the added sub and amp is pretty spot on. I took the door speakers out and replaced them. They looked like the same speakers in non B&O systems which is disappointing. I was going to keep the factory tweeters in use but now I'm leaning on replacing those too.

I placed these in the doors and use the tweeters as "image tweeters" which I placed in the window sail to work with the factory tweeters.

I bought this 6.5" subwoofer and made a ported box that fits into the storage bin underneath back seat. I am very impressed with how this sounds tbh.

I used the JL loc 22 for my signal

I went with this amp but I think I wish I went with Tara amp instead but it does sound good. Just does not have a bass nob so I can adjust the bass on the fly. Seems to put out nice clean sound and no issues with stock battery/alternator handling this.

and the biggest gamble but so far so good is this cheap Brazilian DSP that has an app for my iphone and connects bluetooth. So far very impressed with this thing. It is cheaply made, but it works!

These are the tweeters I am going to replace the stock ones with and hopefully get a cleaner sound.

Overall I am very happy with how this sounds, but still have to try and dial it all in.

I edited to update with pics!

That AMP, I love how the Manufacture doesn't rate the amp at all and says, "about" 1200 watts.

If you are happy that is all that matters.

Excellent. I suppose if the B&O doesn't cut it for me, then there's is preamp-level signal and power back there.

Thanks for the info.
If the B&O sound doesn't cut it for you check out PAC's AP4-FD31. It allows for seamless integration of aftermarket amplifiers.

Can you tell me a little more about how your install? Is only the new sub powered by the new amp? You replaced the other speakers but they are still powered by the factory amp?

I am getting my signal from the JL loc 22 from the factory HU. The new amp is powering the component speakers I installed, but the passive crossover comes with "image" tweeter connection. The manufacturer states to use this with regular tweeters. This is something I'm trying out. So they are working with the factory tweeters (I am replacing the factory tweeters with new ones to see if I can get a cleaner sound) that is working off the factory amp. So far it sounds pretty good, but I have this coming to try and dial it all in better.
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_161SA4140I/AudioControl-SA-4140i-SPL.html

Everything else is working off the new amp. Components off the first two channels and the sub is bridged. I have the signal fed into that brazilian expert dsp that seems to work really well for only costing $100 and connects bluetooth so I can adjust from my phone. Time will tell if its $100 well spent or not.

Hope that explains it better?

Went to the Pittsburgh Auto Show & got a look at the Maverick & the storage area below the rear seat. It's at ~ 12" deep ~18"W X ~13"L. There are 2 compartments (if you have the Eco-Boost - 1 for the Hybrid due to the second battery on the passenger side) & a hump for the drive shaft. I was thinking how deep of a sub I good get in there. Looking at the JL Audio 10TW3-D8 Shallow series woofers. My install tech said why don't we just take the cargo compartment out & build a custom box. I'm putting 2 of those woofers in a custom box with at least a 600 watt sub amp. Screw those self powered skinny little subs. We'll remove the factory amp & put a 4 channel in for the 6 cab full range speaker which we'll upgrade. I wanted the Lariat Lux package for the B & O but for minimal$$ I can build a better system.
