Meh, offering someone $35 a day for a rental car is as good as nothing at all in Los Angeles.
Time to exercise California's lemon law? Has Ford been involved throughout this troubleshooting process? If it's just customer relations people, they might hold your hand but they can't fix your truck.
You sound like a very patient person, I hope it gets fixed very soon.

I am very familiar with lemon law and have an awesome attorney if need be. When I responded to Ford’s post on this thread with my info, I got a call from their social media team asking what the issue is, asked what dealer I’m working with, then said the guy said “I’ll see if I can help
Out.” It has been 2 days since and no news yet though.

I have no idea what they do specifically though.

Thank you

What if the electrical problems have something to do with the concept of the Faraday Cage? Something not grounded correctly (my assumption). I took this example from Wikipedia:

Examples of Faraday Cage uses:
  • Electronic components in automobiles and aircraft utilize Faraday cages to protect signals from interference. Sensitive components may include wireless door locks, navigation/GPS systems, and lane departure warning systems. Faraday cages and shields are also critical to vehicle infotainment systems (e.g. radio, Wi-Fi, and GPS display units), which may be designed with the capability to function as critical circuits in emergency situations. [5] [6]
Ask me if I know what this means and I will tell you no. I took electrical physics some years ago to satisfy a course requirement for my degree ... much water over that bridge since then. My simple concept of the Faraday Cage is the separation of negative / positive charges outside / inside of a cage ... much like the body of an automobile to protect the occupant from electrical pulses (lightening strike).

Someone posted earlier he/she understood electrical circuits, maybe he/she can comment.

If anyone on this forum deserves Ford's attention, you do. There was another poster with serious issues and a Ford representative, that had been lurking, responded to them.
I can't remember the poster or the issue and I've not been able to successfully search it.

Maybe another member will recall the post. . . .

The ford account has a relative canned response to a lot of issues on here, large and small, asked each person to message them with their VIN, mileage, location, dealer, etc. so they can follow up.

You can see all of their posts here

Right now the rental car market is so f'd due to the new car shortage, that a rental can easily go for 100/day. The $20 special is long gone for at least another year or more.

(rental companies sold some of their inventory at the start of the pandemic to have cash, they flooded the used car market, then the usually turnover of fleet vehicles dried up and people hung onto their cars longer and the used car market skyrocketed. Which washed over into the new car market that was battling production issues due to the pandemic, and now just can't make them fast enough). And fleets like rental agencies are not high up in the pecking order. They're going to be short on available stock for a long time. And demand will dictate the price for what they do have.)

Yeah so in California where I live, that $69/day Mitsubishi Mirage will actually end up costing me close to $140/day after fees/insurance/taxes/etc.

I’m approaching 6 months with my Lariat. Couldn’t be more pleased. Lemon law might be in play with yours. What is it? Certain amount of days or frequency of the problem.

Im still saying I think it's related to the issue on mine with the bad 12v connection. A little update, the dealer is still waiting on a replacement wiring harness.

Should not even respond but I will. You don’t have to own a hybrid to comment. They both have a battery and mine could certainly have something draw it down as well. And owner should consider the lemon law. Aherpa made a similar suggestion. No need for response police on here. Move along. I will reply how and whenever I like.

Look what I found. Makes my post sort of relevant. Kid named my truck!

Since I’ve done a good deed, I shall be rewarded if you believe in karma.
