Paying $1,295.00 is your down payment for head of the line. Additional charges come weekly at the gas pump. My humble opinion shared by many but evidently not all.
EB is more capable and will cost the average driver $1500/year above the hybrid. Probably not too big of a deal for many drivers, especially those that wanted AWD or 4k.

Back out enough things and you can move to the front of the line.
*Horse not included.

But for those that don't need/want either, the hybrid was what sold us. Ford seriously underestimated the huge and enthusiastic reception for an affordable hybrid.

A hybrid saves a person $450 per year in fuel costs (based on 15,000 per year with fuel costs of $2.35 a gallon). Since the 2.0L is $1,085 extra a person will save $3,335 after the first five years.

How about when gas is double or triple that? I'm "buying insurance" against that with a hybrid.

Just heard @fordvideoguy (Tim Bartz) says that there is some truth about the Hybrid, Co-Pilot 360 and Luxury Package/SIBL delays. View the video below and take a listen, he busted a lot of myths.

It's not that everyone who has these items in their order are moved to MY '23. Or that they definitely will not get built this year. Or production of these have stopped for the remainder of the model year. That is inaccurate.

But what is accurate is that they are now forecasting that now that the order books are closed and they know exactly how many units they have left to build in the '22 Model Year, they now are forecasting they will not have enough parts/components/microships for all the Co-Pilot 360 ordered units, the Luxury Package units and Spray-in Bedliners for every single person who ordered (and such equipped Hybrids as a result). But by the end of production for the '22 MY, they will have enough for most. But many of them may get pushed further out in this year's production as they will be building less of them along the way due to the constraints.

Production of Co-Pilot 360, Hybrids, Luxury Packages and Spray-In Bedliners continue. The production is still happening. But not everyone is going to get them, though. There will be some late purchasers who may end up having to drop these to stay in the '22 Model Year. He went through all the Long McArthur orders scheduled, showing that there are still Hybrid and Luxury Packages being produced this month. Production has not stopped, as some dealers/members have reported. But the constraints are real. He said especially ones with more semi conductor chips (Luxury Package components, like heated steering/seats/tech items, etc.). Hybrids also have more chips and affected too. Ford confirmed to him that they are experiencing Maverick chip shortages.

Dealers are probably calling to encourage some of their buyers to drop these items so their customers can get their units this year. And they make their money this year too. :) And this is probably why we are seeing chatter among members related to dealer calls.

And if some people drop these who do not really want them or were on the fence about them, or not really caring about these items, they will likely build sooner and they may end up having enough for all those who ordered.

Another interesting note is that Tim says you can modify orders, even though the order window is closed. BUT, you shouldn't change Trim levels because it will modify your order date and could put you at the back of the line. You also can't change to Hybrid, of course. You also cannot change if your order is locked by the Region (Priority Code 2) or if you have been scheduled.

WHAT WOULD WE ALL DO WITHOUT TIM?
I do not think Tim is so wonderful.

He has orders from June and July that are not built yet even though people who ordered from other dealers in Sept and Oct are already driving their Mav.

Did he tell the people who ordered from all over the country that their build schedule depends on how many orders they have vs allocations? LM now has over 500 orders and their line is still 300-400 long. Now the chip shortage is getting worse. People who should have been already driving their Mavs if they ordered from their local dealer like I did, now have to decide to drop lux or the safety features of 360 to get built. Compromising my family's safety for blind spot and tech we are now used to is not an option. Injury attorneys could come after LM if they did not properly disclose the allocation process, and then got into a bad wreck after dropping 360 in order to get built.

Anyone who is still on permanent wait status should have been advised by their dealer that their line is too long and they should order from someone else. But Tim and the others are salesmen who may not disclose something that will make them lose a sale and bonuses.

Ford should build your Maverick based on date of order, no matter which dealer you use. Their attempt to be fair to dealers with allocations, is very unfair to buyers when others are able to cut the line in front of them.

Yep, sometimes even dealers with lots of allocations can experience delays. It's all about the ratio of allocations to actual orders that ensures quicker pick and ultimate delivery. We all try to game the system once we know it, sometimes it backfires.

I disagree with you though. Tim has been honest with how the allocation system works. And he never has said anyone should order with them because there is a scheduling advantage with them. People deduce that.

Tim spoke in general terms about allocations. Before he took an order, he should have specifically told each buyer that as of today, we have X orders vs. Y allocations. By disclosing that their line is too long due to an imbalance in that ratio, buyers could have made a more informed decision by contacting other dealers to find out their allocation status.

This mess can easily be solved by Ford by changing builds to date of order instead of the mysterious allocation system.

You must not have been following all of Tim's communications closely for as long as I have. He can't know how many allocations they will have the month you get selected for build. It is in a state of flux all the time. He could give you false hope if he did it when you purchase, or give you false hopeless information. Most of their customers choose Long McArthur based on their reputation and customer service. Not trying to game the allocation system.

Purchase your vehicle on the dealer you think will provide you the best experience. You can take allocation into account, yes. However, no results are guaranteed. Ford scheduling is part soothsaying and sorcery. o_O 🤠 😋

Electronic nanny shit. ... The blind spot mirror function. We didnt have this shit years ago. You added convex mirror circles to the corner of your mirror, check your mirrors and look over your shoulder before lane departure.
Convex mirror circles? What kind of "nanny shit" is that? That's as bad as having two side mirrors.

We didn't have that hand-holding crap in my day. We kept our head on a swivel instead of just stupidly looking in the direction we were going.

I knew in the 1960s -- when they started requiring that passenger side mirror -- that it was all going to be downhill from there. And now look at us. Power steering. Power brakes. Cup holders...

And turn signals, for god's sake... What's the matter with your arm?

I don't know what's happening. Nostalgia just isn't what it used to be... :devilish:

Who gives a shit about copilot 360. That shit is for lazy drivers, ass riders or inattentive drivers. What ever happened to actually paying attention, I mean really paying attention when you drove, and turning your head to check your blind spot. People too dependent on these things designed to try to make an inattentive driver, ass rider, or careless driver into a good one. That was one item I looked at , laughed and said well that's a waste of my cash. Be a more attentive driver, put the cell phone down, and drive the vehicle, and dont ride up peoples asses, and you wont need it. None of that is actually needed if you pay attention.

Dont forget the seat warmers and steering wheel warmer 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I use gloves, and insulated long underwear on them cold days. I dont believe passenger side mirrors were a requirement until the early 1980s. I know none of my 60s mopar muscle cars had em, unless I added them. Even then they werent really positioned well to be of any use. They just looked cool.

I have BLIS on my F250 and the way ford implements it is useless, just flashes the mirror light if you are about to crash into someone, no beeps nothing, you hardly notice it, plus I dont trust it to work nor should anyone else. The rear cross traffic does work though, about the only thing worth a shit, but my truck is way bigger and hard to see backing into traffic. I opted out of 360 for the tiny mav.

Another great statement! Hand signals are something I still use, but only when I'm riding my Harley.
