  1. Adios - I bought a Ranger

It was $42k w/ 8k miles, so it was still 88% of MSRP but I felt my cost to uplift to it was really good. Three things, first is the one I bought was lightly used, so there was a decent discount off MSRP (see prior quote). Second, exactly what you indicate, the 6g ranger is WAY more expensive...
  2. Adios - I bought a Ranger

After waiting 15 months for my Maverick and taking delivery in April of this year, I realized it wasn't the truck for me. There was nothing wrong with it, in fact, I think the Maverick is a fabulous vehicle. It is just enough truck for most people, but I wanted to do a little more with it...
  3. Looking for more performance and sound from 2.0 EcoBoost

One of the good qualities of my 2013 Dodge Dart was the exhaust sound. It was a 1.4L turbo and I regularly received compliments on the exhaust sound from it. If someone could figure out how to replicate that, I would probably purchase that exhaust immediately.
  4. Why are so many Mavericks getting rear ended?

rear endings happen. My 2009 Honda Civic Si was rear-ended as I waited at a stop sign. My 2013 Dodge Dart was rear-ended while I was at a stop light. In both cases I am sure my brake lights were illuminated. It's not unique to this vehicle in any way.
  5. What MPG are owners getting with 2.0L EcoBoost AWD 4K Tow?

2023 Lariat Lux AWD w/ 4k and no ACC. 20 - 22mpg in town -- it is worse the hotter it is 28 - 31mpg on interstate w/ cruise at 78 -- depends on wind, elevation changes, and if I can maintain that speed or if there is traffic I reset my overall fuel economy at 1000 miles and have not reset...
  6. Has Ford "Solved" the Maverick Demand Problem with Higher Pricing?

A similarly equipped Lariat is roughly the same price in '24 as it was in '23. At least the one I am ordering is basically the same price if you exclude the rollover incentive.
  7. 2024 Maverick Build and Price is LIVE!

I ordered a '24 today. Lariat w/ 4k and FX4. Trade estimate on my 2023 with 15k miles (I am at 6k today) is a few hundred away from the MSRP of my new build, which is just crazy to me. It seems like a no brainer to upgrade to a brand new truck from one with 15k (estimated) for less than $1k.
  8. How are you paying for Maverick?

    I wrote a check.
  9. Tested: Is Higher Octane Fuel Better? Better MPG? More HP? -- 87 vs 91 vs 93 Octane with Ethanol Edition (by Project Farm)

Why did you not highlight the full sentence? By only highlighting half the sentence you changed the meaning. Here, let me help. For best overall vehicle and engine performance, premium fuel with an octane rating of 91 or higher is recommended. In context, premium fuel increases performance...
  10. Tested: Is Higher Octane Fuel Better? Better MPG? More HP? -- 87 vs 91 vs 93 Octane with Ethanol Edition (by Project Farm)

The manual says use 87 octane as a minimum and 91 or higher for better performance. Further, it specifically states that light knocking is OK. If you want to trust the engineers, they said that 87 is ok even if it causes light knocking at times.
  11. Any current owners thinking of placing a 2024 order?

Looking at the price guide and the black book on my existing lariat lux, I think I could get into a new 2024 lariat for $2000 out the door. Paying 5% of the purchase price again to wipe 10-15k off the odometer seems like a no brainer to me. My dealership does not require a deposit so if the...

  17. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

You are right, and rereading my post it was clear I was providing anecdotal evidence of a single tank, not a claim of long term documented study.
  18. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

On a whim I filled up with "Unleaded 88" (E15) instead of 87 octane (E10) and surprisingly saw my best MPG thus far. I expected to lose 0.5 mpg and instead saw a gain of more than 1.
