I doubt that the Maverick needs a particular chip that is not used on any other ford model. Especially considering its brothers and sisters are the Bronco Sport and the Escape including the Hybrid Escape. The OP says that all Mavericks need the particular chip that is missing.
But do we have anything (other than rumor) saying that particular chip is used in the other lines you mention?
If the OP is right that all Mavericks need the particular chip that is missing, then it seems they wouldn't be able to finish and ship anything at all.
Great idea. You firstTime to call those dealers and cancel those Lux packages people!
Absolutely this, I'd prefer the factory liner (even though I plan to get an aftermarket bed cover), but if they give me the option to drop spray-in bedline for a $500 or so credit I'd likely go for it. There is a place locally that does Rhino lining.Great information as always.
I am still shocked Ford wont let Lux Package people choose to drop SIBL all together to help those who are indifferent about that part of the package.
Yeah, I dumb lucked my way into a quickly made truck. Upgrading to lariat primarily for the faux leather seats, I couldn't justify the lux package for the heated seats (would've optioned them if it was stands alone) and the 360 just isn't anything I was interested in. But the bed liner was a bit deal to me.Mine was ordered around the same time with Lux and CP360 and not scheduled so there has to be an issue with those packages holding up orders.
Pretty sure Toyota resolved this issue over the past 20 years.I would bet on the Mav. I had a 2003 Tacoma and the truck was ruined because the frame rusted so bad that it was unsafe to drive.
Did you read my post backwards? Or maybe upside down?I doubt that the Maverick needs a particular chip that is not used on any other ford model. Especially considering its brothers and sisters are the Bronco Sport and the Escape including the Hybrid Escape.
Nothing saying the chip "is not used in any other Ford model." Nothing about the Bronco Sport or the Escape. Just about the Explorer and Lincoln Aviator lines. But do we have anything (other than rumor) saying that particular chip is used in the other lines you mention?
I think no one expected the truck to sell out pretty much before the year 2022 arrived! Normally maybe the orders would have spread out over late 2021 through 2022 before the 23'S came out??Yeah, I dumb lucked my way into a quickly made truck. Upgrading to lariat primarily for the faux leather seats, I couldn't justify the lux package for the heated seats (would've optioned them if it was stands alone) and the 360 just isn't anything I was interested in. I think part of the problem was Ford underestimated how many would upgrade to lariat or get the lux packages that they simple do not have enough for all the orders. Maybe if most were base XLs they'd have no problem. But by not letting you customize all the add-ons and have to do packages meant everyone upgrades everything.
Ah, you need to listen to Tim Bartz's video at the start of this thread. After my production date of Dec 13th..VIN available, modules populated and delivery date of Jan 17th, then Feb 23rd and now April 23rd I called my dealer and asked him to run a visibility report and sure enough it's on a chip hold. I ordered the XLT with Lux package, SIBL and rear manual window. No co pilot 360 so must be the heated seats, steering wheel that's holding it up waiting for the chip. Seems weird the delivery was pushed exactly 2 months so I'm thinking Ford did this as a worse case....maybe wishful thinking. Anyone else in the same boat? Stuck in production for 2 months? Ordered truck Sep 23rd.
You had a reference to a post that claimed it was one particular chip unique to the Maverick, if you only want to be argumentative please do not respond to my posts and I will do the same. I thought we were sharing viewpoints.Did you read my post backwards? Or maybe upside down?
The post I responded to (and quoted) was about the shutting down of the Explorer and Lincoln Aviator lines. I asked if we know whether the particular missing Maverick chip is also used in those lines:Nothing saying the chip "is not used in any other Ford model." Nothing about the Bronco Sport or the Escape. Just about the Explorer and Lincoln Aviator lines.
If you had bothered to read all the way to the end of the line, you would have known that.
I'm glad after hearing this news that I changed my XLT Lux package from SIBL to DIBL a while back! I have July 5th order so maybe, just maybe I can now get scheduled! And, the older orders have the SIBL, while the newer orders have the DIBL. And it appears Ford may end up fulfilling more DIBLs than SIBLs, which could actually give an advantage to newer order with the Lux pack.
I'm thinking that now that the books are closed on ordering and Ford has a much better grasp on how many different packages they are going to need, scheduling might actually get better, especially if they are still trying to focus on the older order dates, which I for one am hoping they are. This also might finally give all those folks who ordered from smaller dealership a glimmer of light on finally getting their orders scheduled.Yay, my production date just got bumped up from 4/4 to 3/28. And yes I do have the SIBL.
