I ordered Ecoboost XLT mid June. The only addition I got was the 4k tow package. Mine just got pushed back to March.Spray liner is part of the delay but now I think there must be something else in those packages causing delay.
My Lariat Hybrid (non lux, non 360) was ordered and confirmed on 8/25. My reservation (just to the dealership was 8/4).We have had 0 hybrid orders from late August, September, October, November scheduled so far.
Is not costing you.... You have a vehicle in your possession at your disposal to be used the entire time. That has value. In June when deciding whether or not to order, I used KBB (blue book) to estimate the value of my F-150 trade in. I assumed (ha, ha ha) delivery in fall of 2022. But no. The value I'm bringing to the trade drops every month of Ford's delay. This is costing me.
Around November I received a promo offer from Ford worth $750. Yay. The delivery date was at that time estimated end of December. Later that slipped to January. Then first week of February. Now, May. The promo offer expires in April. It almost feels as if Ford deliberately delayed delivery to avoid honoring their promotion. In any case, the delay has real costs.
The state wants a safety and emissions inspection every year, and a new "registration sticker." Nobody does this kind of paperwork for free. In June when I ordered the date of that expense was several months after the trade -- so, no expense. NOW the date of inspection and registration is three months before delivery. I have to pay a full year's fees but only get "benefit" of that required paperwork for 9 months. It's a real cost.
The window sticker estimates annual cost of fuel (for a hybrid) at $950, based on 15.000 miles at gas price of $2.35 per gallon. Well, guess what? Gas prices are about a third higher than that. And going up. It's going to cost more to fuel the Maverick than planned.
All this before we even get started on the risk and rumors of dealer shenanigans marking the MSRP way way up.
Delay is more than an annoyance or an inconvenience. This is a real financial setback.
On the other hand, I expect, someday, to get a sack full of injection molded plastic knickknacks that will socket into the FITS locations. That's probably worth -- something...
Has anybody heard anything from Ford about making tangible offers of recompense for the problems their logistics break downs are causing?
It's hard to figure out what production dates really mean now.I received a mail from Ford just now.. saying my production week moved from March 21 to to March 14th! Lucky me? Hard to trust it..
My production date was just moved up a week to 2/21 but based on the other delays that is 1,000% what I expect. They're just keeping the production line going so they don't waste time and even though my truck is scheduled to be made the 21st, I understand that almost definitely it will need the same control modules and will sit in the desert technically incomplete. If it's scheduled for production on the 21st of this month I imagine I might see it in June or JulyIt's hard to figure out what production dates really mean now.
If what the Brand Manager told Tim is correct, then your truck might be built in March but wouldn't actually be shipped until sometime in May (or later) after the shipping dates for the already built trucks sitting in Hermosillo.
It's all guesswork -- but my truck was "produced" in mid-January and apparently it's not going anywhere.
Aloha Tim, yes just got my build date moved again from 2/28 to 3/7 Can you say chip shortage! Hopefully this isn't going to be a trend for Ford.
The reason I look at them differently is because oktb on the hybrid was 3 months after the Ecoboost. Ford was pumping out Ecoboost at higher quantity then Ecoboost so there are fewer orders needing produced than hybrids.@fordvideoguy your video seems to imply that they’ll treat hybrids and ecoboosts differently. Shouldn’t an October hybrid get priority over a November ecoboost in terms of materials/chips?
I ask because the video kind of mentions them as separate entities. Like maybe if you ordered an EB Lux in November, that was soon enough. But maybe September is soon enough for hybrids.
I was hoping more like if you ordered any truck, regardless of engine and options, by October that it would get built.
I would say based on where you both live, it's a direct punishment for your state's football teams. Before you come back and mention the Broncos. I despise the Broncos.I'm assuming this is punishment for my many sins... Not sure about you...![]()
What would you suggest I do with my June XLT Lux Hybrid order? We have had 0 hybrid orders from late August, September, October, November scheduled so far.
"Mav Moses" / "El Timbo" has spoken. As always thx for the insights and perspective. The reason I look at them differently is because oktb on the hybrid was 3 months after the Ecoboost. Ford was pumping out Ecoboost at higher quantity then Ecoboost so there are fewer orders needing produced than hybrids.
Go check the recent Long McArthur YouTube video, I believe he spoke on such a scenario if you have a Lux pkg on your truck. Good luck!!What would you suggest I do with my June Lux Hybrid order?
Im actually a LV Raiders fan, but willing to ride the Bengals bandwagon with my friends here haha Burrow is just too coolI would say based on where you both live, it's a direct punishment for your state's football teams. Before you come back and mention the Broncos. I despise the Broncos.
Hang in there fellas, it will be worth the wait. I ordered my XLT (no add-ons) in July, got my truck in early Jan.
Mine was ordered around the same time with Lux and CP360 and not scheduled so there has to be an issue with those packages holding up orders. My Lariat Hybrid (non lux, non 360) was ordered and confirmed on 8/25. My reservation (just to the dealership was 8/4).
Mine was delivered 1/6. So there are a few. Though not sure if my reservation assisted the dealership in getting a allocated spot ordered and waiting for my official order to be placed.
Either way, I got mine (with a SIBL as well)
