Ford Motor Company thinks so if they use it on both XL and XLT models. But there is a rub here. If you have an FX4 package the difference is this and holds true for gas or hybrids. So it is only optimal if you don't have an FX4 package which rules out all XL owners doing this mod.
The codes appear to be different for XLT hybrid versus XLT ecoboost—and they don’t use it at all on XL, because it doesn’t come with CC. The difference may be moot, but that seems unlikely. So, I’m not sure that I understand your response to my question.

Did you know what packages were on the vehicles you looked at? Did you do an apples to apples comparison for each with the same packages installed and an apples to oranges for each with different packages installed?

Both hybrid XLTs were basic, without copilot or other features, except one had a tow hitch—and both had the same code. The plain XLT Ecoboost had the “original” code.

I doubt that XLT w/ "original" code was an XLT. Cruise control is standard as part of the 300A package on XLT models. What I do know for sure since I've run into it, depending where you are getting VIN's from, the dealers are putting out wrong VINs that don't correspond to what the vehicle they are listing on some sites like Carmax for example. Obvious ones I've seen are hybrid XLT with FX4 packages. That is totally false since Ford on these 2022 Mavericks do not offer that package period unless you have AWD which is not offered period on hybrid engines.

Check it out yourself, rather than take my word then. Download data from a hybrid XLT without other features. Compare to an Ecoboost XLT without other features. It’ll be interesting to see if you find that the cruise activation codes are the same or different.

I don't need to since I've already done it. You need to put up the VIN for that XLT so anyone else including myself can check it to see what the real answer is instead of this I say, you say circular banter that gets no real answers.

Sure, I’ll post it when I get in front of my PC later today. Did you post your data and VINs somewhere, and I just missed it?

OK, here are the two "base" hybrids XLTs that I've been using as a reference. Note that one has a trailer hitch receiver, the other doesn't. Otherwise, no additional options.

They both have the same BCM setting: 726-04-05 CB28 8141 8873, not 8872 (per @Tyvemattis original post).

I'd love to see which hybrid XLTs you referenced, since you seem to have found something that matches the ecoboost XLT that I found--but not the hybrids that I found. Maybe Ford has changed settings and/or modules?

Edit: I've been using AsBuiltExplorer to compare .ab files. There is only one other setting that is inexplicably different between the hybrid XL and hybrid XLT. I doubt that it's related to cruise though, but since I can't figure out what it's for, I can't rule it out.

Is that just a checksum difference? I don't know ...

Could be. But it would be odd for ecoboost XLTs and hybrid XLTs to have a single different checksum digit in an otherwise identical line, wouldn't it?

Yes they do say 73 at the end. I'll check what I programmed mine as. Either way 72 or 73 is irrelevant when you put in the value in forscan. Those last 2 digits in any hex code xxxx-xxxx-xxXX are checksums they don't equate to any settings. You could have put in CB28 8140 882E and it would tell you that you have a checksum error and if you proceed it will correct 2E to either 72 or 73 whichever one is correct. As long as the first 6 digits are correct is the important thing. If I have it wrong I'll change the main post.

When you say, "it will correct," are you referring to Forscan identifying the error and making the correction? Or the module?

Forscan identifying the error. There are also programs that can generate the checksum if you have the first 6 digits. You'd have to dig through the forscan forum for it.

OK, I think that I've figured it out!

In our back-and-forth, I became overly focused on the last digit.
Here's the whole correct string for the "base" hybrid XLTs: 726-04-05 CB28 8141 8873
The checksum is different because it needs to be...

But the question still remains: What is the difference between the XLT hybrid and the XLT ecoboost values?

Edit: I also edited some previous posts to reduce to odds of accidently sending someone else on a wild goose chase.

I thought the second to last four numbers were 8140 not 8141?
