I show 22 Mavericks in my area and not a single one is available (or even on the lot)
Same. I've checked a variety of dealerships and their hybrid 'inventory' at MSRP is listed automatically when a customer order comes in. They don't actually have the Mavs in stock.

The dealerships which do actually have Mavs on the lots are claiming they're 'used' and marking them up significantly. Almost all of these are EBs.

I like how this one dealership in the city is doing it. They advertise incoming inventory, and you can see the MSRP all-in price (before taxes) on the window sticker. Basically, you can put down a deposit over the phone to reserve it. I think most of the Mavericks arriving here are already spoken for before they arrive. You pay MSRP, no haggling, no deals, but no mark-up either.

Only 1 hybrid close to my build within 200 miles, and it has a 18k markup.
So no, I'll wait.

For those trying to save some money, whether buying off a dealer lot or not, you can get a $500 rebate by joining Farm Bureau. You do not have to be a state resident, farmer, or own farmland. I do not know if our curling loving brothers in Canada can be members or not, but it is worth the phone call. Phone number is 309-663-6497. Very helpful and nice lady there helped me join.

It looks like all are over $30000 and at least one is over $40000.

I like to look at the window stickers to see what packages and options you get for that. I saw one dealer had an XL 2.0 eB for well under $30K. Prices on packages and options have gone up, and on the attached windowsticker .pdf, you can see a no option XL is $28,700 before shipping & taxes. Note these are all "dealer ordered".

I believe the dealers have nothing to do with listings on the internet on any site. Ford shows them in inventory even though most are orders and not available for sale. I've called every dealer of decent size in a 300 mile radius hoping to maybe stumble on an order declined by the person who ordered. But most dealers are going to jack up the price on those if you find one. I turned down an available Lariat AWD 2.0 a few weeks ago as it was 300 miles away and had a 5K adjustment.
YOU ARE ABSOULUTLY RIGHT ! Dealers have no control over that it is Ford corporate. Trucks that are special ordered by customers are included in inventory . Only way to get one is hope someone who has ordered one bails on it And you get a dealer who is not in ADM mode .REMEMBER you do not technically own the truck till you pay for it the dealer does.

My dealer required sign and license, but no $
I did give a pic of my liscence. I ultimately bought mine using cars .com. I tried four different dealers before I landed my hot pepper red awd loaded lariat. I got everything but sunroof

I don't even want to pay full MSRP, so was stoked on placing the Granger order for an ecoboost even though I really wanted the hybrid, for the $3K off MSRP, but then they went and changed the cutoff date early and I missed it. Hopefully when orders open back up there will be another 4% or $3K off deal again, as I'm not dying with my old vehicle but its 13 years old and not getting any younger.

The problem is it's the Lariat and the one they have is black. I hate black vehicles with every fibre of my being. They show every water drop and scratch and look like they have been sandblasted after the roads have been salted. Not sure I can live with that. My white trucks I can wash once a month or less and they always look clean
I feel the same way about black! My vehicles have been white or light colors but no way could I get away with only once a month wash LOL! I went with a CG Lariat because the color was the only negative with the truck I was able to find.

Right now I would take anything on dealers lot as my cars transmission just went out (repair costs are more than car is worth). Would drive it until my July ordered First Edition comes in and then sell it to Carvana or one of the other places and probably make money.

Don't bank on that. Especially if you pay a dealer markup for a stock unit.

I initially considered a white Maverick, but in these parts of Florida a lot of white Ford trucks (there's at least two older Rangers in my neighborhood I can think of) are oddly discolored with a copper-ish sheen from...sulphur water? Not sure. Agree with you on the black vehicles, though.

My quest continues. Found what I think is a fully loaded lariat in Arizona. Only $50k, fellas.
