Everything degrades over time. I was told long ago by mechanics at a Ford dealer that brake fluid absorbs moisture. I don't know enough and haven't researched it throroughly to know how accurate that is but it sounds plausible as pretty much anything absorbs moisture.

Having 0 knowledge about importing vehicles (but in the transportation field) and I may be talking out of my ass right now... I would think they'd be by rail. If they unload any vehicles it'd probably have to go through US customs so it'd make sense to just keep them on the train til they get...

sounds about right. i've definitely had that happen with my sync3. twice now it hasn't recognized my phone and carplay won't open, phone won't charge.
