The full size spare was flagged by Ford as being a constraint item. Holding up my order.
I've read a couple of news article recently that tires were becoming hard to obtain, again because if supply issues so this might why Ford is having a constraint.

I ordered an XLT Lux, and if Ford contacted me and offered a credit to drop the SIBL and actually get my truck built, I'd do it.
me too!

Without the full size spare you still get a spare though. 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully Ford just moves them to the front of the line now and gets them done in the next few months.
So you are saying that Ford can’t change the rules and deliver a FE in late CY22 alongside MY23 models. These are supposedly Ford’s rules and they can modify them anyway they want.

I listened to the Ford video dude stream. He initially said sit tight if you ordered an XL or XLT prior to November with constraint items. Later he said drop them regardless. I’m torn!

I replaced all 5 of my K02's on my Jeep last summer.. Couldn't find my size. Ended getting 31's since they were close.

Just heard @fordvideoguy (Tim Bartz) says that there is some truth about the Hybrid, Co-Pilot 360 and Luxury Package/SIBL delays. View the video below and take a listen, he busted a lot of myths.

It's not that everyone who has these items in their order are moved to MY '23. Or that they definitely will not get built this year. Or production of these have stopped for the remainder of the model year. That is inaccurate.

But what is accurate is that they are now forecasting that now that the order books are closed and they know exactly how many units they have left to build in the '22 Model Year, they now are forecasting they will not have enough parts/components/microships for all the Co-Pilot 360 ordered units, the Luxury Package units and Spray-in Bedliners for every single person who ordered (and such equipped Hybrids as a result). But by the end of production for the '22 MY, they will have enough for most. But many of them may get pushed further out in this year's production as they will be building less of them along the way due to the constraints.

Production of Co-Pilot 360, Hybrids, Luxury Packages and Spray-In Bedliners continue. The production is still happening. But not everyone is going to get them, though. There will be some late purchasers who may end up having to drop these to stay in the '22 Model Year. He went through all the Long McArthur orders scheduled, showing that there are still Hybrid and Luxury Packages being produced this month. Production has not stopped, as some dealers/members have reported. But the constraints are real. He said especially ones with more semi conductor chips (Luxury Package components, like heated steering/seats/tech items, etc.). Hybrids also have more chips and affected too. Ford confirmed to him that they are experiencing Maverick chip shortages.

Dealers are probably calling to encourage some of their buyers to drop these items so their customers can get their units this year. And they make their money this year too. :) And this is probably why we are seeing chatter among members related to dealer calls.

And if some people drop these who do not really want them or were on the fence about them, or not really caring about these items, they will likely build sooner and they may end up having enough for all those who ordered.

Another interesting note is that Tim says you can modify orders, even though the order window is closed. BUT, you shouldn't change Trim levels because it will modify your order date and could put you at the back of the line. You also can't change to Hybrid, of course. You also cannot change if your order is locked by the Region (Priority Code 2) or if you have been scheduled.

WHAT WOULD WE ALL DO WITHOUT TIM?
Nice, very nice post - it is great to have some "understanding" as to the delays etc.

Really don't believe it's fair to expect to get either my hybrid or my eco, before anyone who actually did get a confirmed order of either of those in before my Sept. order. One on a dealers lot sold to a walk-in, still won't be happy but understandable, but those that ordered after me driving one, no matter the reason, will really piss me off! Just an obnoxious way to sell any product? L I F O ? Last to order first to receive? Unacceptable!

I didn't say anything about Ford cannot move things to next model year. I completely agree with your point. Any guidelines or rules Ford makes, Ford can change.

I agree. But none of us has any control over it. If Ford builds my truck before those who ordered months before me, I am still going to buy it.

Ford has a contract for standard spares (including donut spares) for every Maverick built. Those are already in the pipeline (but may be constrained, don't know). However, they do not have a contract for every one of them to have a Full Size Spare (Option). If the uptake rate is higher than they contracted, they may not be able to get that supplier to supply all the additional ones beyond negotiated initially. Especially if that supplier is having supply/labor/shipping issues of its own.

He has always advised to drop constrained items if they aren't really must-haves. It's a balancing act between what we demand to have on our orders vs. how long we're willing to wait. For me, I don't want to compromise on any part of my order so I'll just have to wait.

Yeah well they can’t have a contract for every mini spare since they don’t know how many they need so it’s all speculation on both sides. I just find it humorous that a tire would be on constraint when it’s simply an exchange. Hell, if it’s that important ford could just build it without the full size and credit the sticker.
