CPLAY2AIR Wireless CarPlay Adapter confirmed to work in Maverick

So far only success that has been logged on here is with the Lariat/Sync setup - nobody yet has got it to work with the Ford Connected Touch system in the XL/XLT. I'm hoping that will change once they get the testing and a possible firmware update.

Edit: It looks like @Cubican may have gotten Cplay2Air to work in his XLT if I'm reading his post right in another thread, hopefully will confirm here.

I have it on my xl I have 2 trucks and is working great my unit is few years old I used it on the wife’s Alfa I have a video but I can’t download it here

My understanding from reading through several threads about this is that the radios that don't have the Sync 3 will not work with these wireless adapters. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

The person above has a Lariat so that truck comes with the radio that has Sync 3.

Do you at least see the adapter screen show up when you plug it in?

IIRC it was pretty easy, I disconnected all bluetooth and wifi connections. Then I selected the search button on the screen and then selected pair on my phone and that was it.

I don't think any of these Chinese devices come with much in the way of support.

You just plug it into your USB. Truck screen should auto switch to CarPlay source after 15-30 seconds or so as the dongle boots up. It will show a screen with a name like Sync-#### and just look for that name on your phone in the bluetooth menu. Click it and hit pair. Phone might ask if you want to enable CarPlay with this device and just click yes. Then it should be ready to go with the CarPlay home screen up.

Picked up my hybrid XLT yesterday and tried to get the CPLAY to work. I put it in my other car and ran the updates and confirmed it works but when I put it in the Maverick theres nothing. Very frustrating, will hope theres a fix soon.

I have an Ottocast coming. Will attempt on my Lariat Lux w/SYNC 3. Hope it works!

I got an email this morning saying my Ottocast that was supposed to be here before the end of December, then the end of January is now going to be shipped by the end of February. Oh well. At least my Motorola MA1 arrived today. I will give my wife the Ottocast to use in her minivan when it comes in.

I bought the 2022 TNVTEC CarPlay Activator Dongle CarPlay adapter from Amazon, installed it yesterday and it's working great so far. Boots quickly. Very little lag.
