I first ordered a hybrid on 7/12 at my local dealer, where I had previously bought 3 new Fords. On 8/3 they said that if I wanted an XLT I would have to get the FX4 package, which I think also requires the EB. They had copied my drivers license so guess they'll get one that they can add $$$ above MSRP. I then went to another Ford store and put $500 deposit on a hybrid on 8/4. I signed their paperwork, but they didn't sign it. So it's tentatively scheduled to arrive on 1/1/22. I hope that they don't add $$$ onto the MSRP. If they do, I'm looking for Plan C.

I'm working on this with them now. Once we get it all hammered out, I will post details. It went pretty quick today. I sent them all the info on what I wanted, they sent back to me a proposed order sheet to look over to make sure it was exactly as I wanted it. So far I sent back to them a copy of my drivers licence and insurance card, and a phone number. Tomorrow I leave a deposit with them. I am sure I will get an order confirmation sent to me as an email I can make a print copy of.

We send an electronic signature document with pricing, configuration etc, then we place the order and you'll receive an email from Ford confirming tge order being placed.

Im 450 miles away. Anyone have experience with Granger? Nearby airports, or tradein experiences with the dealership?

Flight in shouldn't be a problem (I drove down from Minnesota myself) - I believe they'll pick you up if you fly in. Plenty of people on here with experience buying from them so far, great experience from my perspective and would absolutely look to them next time around.

Espeer we are all in different positions in life. Not everybody is in a great financial position for whatever reason. In my case 1 special needs child, and 1 child with mental health issues. I hope your truly blessed to be able to have the financial ability do whatever you want.

First off, Happy New Year.

I spent 15 years in the car business, which makes me look at things from "their" perspective.

A $1000 non-refundable deposit would weed out 99% percent of the type of "buyer" that Granger doesn't have the time to deal with.

You know who I mean, they are legion on this site. Can you imagine having to deal with DOZENS of impatient, paranoid, OCD people calling, emailing, questioning them on a weekly basis for 6-9 months?

Can I change my order?
What about the spray in bed liner?
Does this price change affect me?
Is my truck built yet?
Will the tailgate be level?
Can I switch to a hybrid?
What if I test drive it and the hood vibrates?
Can I wait for 2023?
My friend on Maverick Truck Club ordered his a week after me, and he has a build date before me!?


And on and on. For months.

The $1000 shows the dealer that you are solid and not unsure. To me- Seems like a smart tact for a very small dealer to take.

I was responding to your assertion that no one will flinch at the nonrefundable deposit if they're intent on buying a Maverick EB.
