If you consider grey and silver are shades of Black & White, 84% of vehicles are shades of black and white.

I blame Henry Ford.
Every Ford 1915 to 1925 was black.
It was both the cheapest paint and the fastest drying paint of that Era lending itself well to the assembly line.
How timely that statement is - I was just listening to NPR/public radio as they said basically the same statistic of around 80% of all new car sales are some shade of grey. Car manufacturers pick those colors because it is easier to get consistent results and at a reasonable cost.

Also a trend in house paint too apparently.

Which is why Ford deserves some credit for having the fortitude to offer the Maverick in a long list of colors that pop, but are not gaudy. The various iterations of the classic performance blue, eruption green, hot pepper red, and this new neptune blue are all something you don't really see anymore until you start spending Lamborghini type $. The orange fury is up there too, but not my personal favorite.

These color options are not locked into the most expensive trims either, the basic XL has always had 1 or 2 of those as well.

It's current size is a big part of why I bought it.
There are plenty of large trucks, but very few of the Mav size currently.
Agree 100%. If the Mav was bigger, I would not have bought it. I probably would have kept my Ridgeline.

I agree with the blue, this ones not bad!

Tim said to expect the builder to update with the 2027 model in a few months, closer to production.
Seems weird to me that Ford waits that long before giving customers access to build the 2027 they think they want online. Personally, I would never go to my dealer asking them to build me one without having done my own research first and I would especially want to see the colors on the Maverick before choosing.

If they get rid of the eCVT transmission then I would think of the Hybrid. CVT transmissions SUCK - dead in acceleration
I think you just ticked off roughly 63% of members on here. I'm just fine with the eCVT. It serves my purpose. I'm 64, my first car was a 69 GTO, so I understand power. This is supposed to be an economy vehicle. I've also owned 3 of the original Rangers w 5 speed manuals. And yes, the hybrid is faster than those. They could barely get out of their own way (unless modified of course). I AM referring to their 4 cylinder motors.

CVT is a glorified snowmobile transmission

Top Vehicle Color Market Share
    • White: 25.7%
    • Black: 23.4%
    • Gray: 22.9%
    • Silver: ~8% to 14% (depending on the specific year and reporting scope)
    • Blue: ~7% to 9%
    • Red: ~7%
    • Other colors (green, brown, orange, yellow): Under 2% combined
White is probably way over represented due to fleet sales. I would bet it would be in the low teens or single digits if parsed out from fleet sale numbers.

Fords eCVT has no belts and pulleys like a CVT does. Ford's Hf45/HF55 Ford eCVT transmission is just gears and electric motors.
Come on man, let people keep their misconceptions.
