The generic hitch found on our Mavericks is irrelevant to the towing capability of our trucks.

4K Tow requires:
1) AWD
2) Additional Cooling
3) “Stock” Suspension

Hey, Ford made the rules not me. Ford has to obey strict federal standards when making tow capability….

BTW when my FWD towed 3200 I put it on a truck scale once. Almost exactly the same weight was on each axle. Tows like a dream. With properly adjusted brakes, hardly know it's back there (if I shut off the MPG screens!).

Rear end is light when you are empty and in balance when towing so there's that.

$20. Just got it, but I'm thinking of hanging it from a wood a-frame with through bolt, high enough to drop the coupler on the hook, or hook a chain wrapped around the coupler. Or maybe suspend from a farm jack, or a steel pipe threaded into a flange? Still a work in progress...
