I have the 2022 Maverick Hybrid and thought to give a brief review:
- ride & comfort are smooth and comfy
- the motor has handled itself well, trouble-free actually. It has taken getting used to some of the different grinds and clicks etc it makes in park or going up sharp climbs or declines but are supposedly expected of the vehicle.
- I know what the MPG in the lab says but I have gotten up to 38 mpg on the road 9I use the economy mode on longer trips) and no lower than 34mpg - in town have gotten 38-41mpg. Loving that a LOT.
- Got the hard Backflip cover to fit the bed and works well (supposedly helps mileage by up to 10%)
- Battery recharge through the braking system has worked flawlessly
- using bluetooth v plugging in directly can be tricky - sometimes I plug the phone in directly and you can't change the audio mode by the touch screen, it freezes or is unresponsive to the touch button (i.e., changing it between AM, FM, phone etc). Glare can keep you from reading the screen well no matter the brightness setting. You have to go through 3 steps of buttons to go back to the apps and setting screens and that can take too long when trying to keep your eyes on the road. So the whole screen/bluetooth thing can be glitchy.
- funny thing to notice is if the truck is off and in park, stand by it for a while and you will hear all kinds of internal clicks, hums, etc. go on for quite a while. Can only assume it's natural and doing its
- no remote start on the fob but the app has worked quite well with it (though I have had a scheduled start and went out and the truck had not been turned on).
- the motor has some major zip to it when accelerating quickly, very responsive.
- wish the back seats had at least an inch more of leg room but it's not a major dealbreaker by any means.
Overall, wouldn't trade it for the world. Mechanically and comfort-wise it has performed beyond expectations so far. Besides the radio/screen being annoyingly somewhat glitchy at times it has been a gas saver and can carry small loads when needed with ease.
Only thought is to get a small lift kit maybe to raise it up a little higher but that is for another day.
Was well worth the one year wait and my dealership generally handled things well throughout the process, especially point of actual purchase and take home.
There ya go!
