It is still worth your time to call Ford customer service and ask if they have an order under your name. Autonation could be jackin' you around.
..
Going through Ford customer service is how I got to the bottom of things. They called the dealership and did a 3-way call. She looked all sorts of different ways in the system and couldn't find a thing....

Just found out that my hybrid order was never formally placed by the dealership! I placed the order and gave them a $500 deposit back in early August, but they never "finalized" it. Of course Ford won't take any more hybrid orders until next summer, so I am basically f**ked!
Considering my options:
1.) They'll give me my deposit back and I am back to square one.
2.) I can wait and see if a customer ends up canceling their hybrid order and I step in.
3.) I order with an ecoboost engine and they say they can get me a higher priority code.

I am kind of leaning toward #3. Obviously it's more $$$ and lower mpg, but need to calm down a bit before I decide.
Has anyone been unhappy with going with the ecoboost engine option? And did you upgrade to the AWD and do you think that is was worth the bang for the extra buck?
What dealer was this? Brandon Ford, Brandon FL consists of nothing more than CLASS 1 certified ID10Ts... I really, really want to use profanity... alas it is not kind.

How many possible hybrid orders do they have that a customer may back out of?
I wouldn't trust anything they say about that now. If they didn't finalize his order, who knows what they did with other orders?

Get your money back and start over. Why give a crappy dealer the sale?

I would be very unhappy if I had to settle for an EcoBoost which I never wanted in the first place.

Love my EB, but you ordered the hybrid for a reason. I also don't think it makes any sense whatsoever to do EB/2WD.

Don't switch. Hope someone backs out and make them sell it to you at MSRP.

The real question is how many hybrid orders they have that they also screwed up on and never filed the verification papers before 11/15.

Feel bad for ya, Make sure Ford knows which dealer and the salespersons name, crap like this hurts Ford too. Get you deposit back, and never go back there.

I didn't realize you could buy a new car through Autonation. In particular, order a car through Ford. This whole things seems fishy.

Take #2 AND #3.
ALSO…
Put in an order for a ā€˜23 hybrid (as you wanted in the first place).
If a suitable ā€˜22 hybrid comes in (at MSRP), cancel the others and you’re all set.
If the EB comes in (at MSRP), take it and trade or sell it when your ā€˜23 hybrid arrives (again, at MSRP). Who knows, maybe you’ll like the EB more! The way things are going, either way you’ll make out in the exchange, money-wise.
Worst case scenario, you end up with the truck you want, but not until next fall. With a ā€œsecond choiceā€, in the interim.
All of this depends on the dealer doing the right thing (MSRP’s). They definitely owe you.
Keep putting out the ā€œbadā€ word about the dealer. Let them know that you will definitely put out the ā€œgoodā€ word if they come clean and do right by you. Give them a chance to do the right thing.
Remember, and remind them, THEY OWE YOU, BIG TIME!

??? I am guessing you are confusing Autonation with Carmax possibly? Because Autonation has a lot of different brands and they all sell new cars.
