Car Scanner is an App that you can find in your phone’s App Store. It’s meant to work with an ELM327 compatible OBD2 Bluetooth scanner dongle.
oh dang, sorry! I looked and missed the post. I have a cheap BT scanner that I think is that type so maybe that app will work. I'll check it out, thanks!

What is the rpm of the electric drive motor at 80mph?
That would take some effort to know as there's MG1 & MG2 plus gear reduction and computer controls at play here. Motors rpm and engine rpm vary with load.

I'm glad that I'm not the only nerd on here.

Around 2300 @70. Rpms rise based on load like going up a hill.

Make some sense, but if your driving steady at 70mph you don't need lots of power, so according to my (very small) logic the rpm should still be lower, I know the electric power is there to assist en ice engine but I was specting for 2.5 to powerful enough to keep you there steady at 70.

Please if I'm wrong don't hesitate to call me out, I really wanna learn as much as possible because I myself want to switch to a hybrid or even in the future so every bit of info or knowledge that anyone can share would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Lower RPM not more efficient.

Look at the ICE graphs in my post above. Star on optimal RPM, which isn't as low as it can go.

Not our Maverick ICE, but probably close enough.

The electric traction motor speed is fixed to output shaft speed. Always 125 rpm per mph with stock size tires.

The generator speed varies in proportion to engine speed when the engine is running. But generator speed is also fixed at 125 rpm per mph in the opposite direction of spin if the engine is off. (2022-2024). Slightly different ratio in 2025+ but same idea.

Very helpful I didn't know the 25-26 Hybrid Mavericks had the Tachometer like My 25 has with the 2.0 EB!!
Are you looking at the add-on scanner displaying RPM that is not part of the truck?

Found this (mg2 is direct geared to final drive gear). Used HF55 (2025-2026 years)
https://www.google.com/search?q=for...3&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#lfId=ChxjMe
Yes but...

AI is quoting information from the HF45 model years 2022 to 2024 and "claiming" it is for the HF55 which was model years 2025 and 2026.

Need someone with an OBDII scanner, set to motor RPM, then drive at exactly 10 MPH and see RPM and divide by 10 to see the exact ratio.

It will be close to the earlier trucks, but probably not exactly the same.

AFAIK the 25+ Hybrids (XL / XLT / Lariat) don't have a tach, so unless someone is using a gauge, all you can tell about engine rpms is the sound...
With an ODB device plugged in there are various apps that will show the rpm of the ICE engine.

Does anyone know the difference in engine rpm at 70 mph between the 24 and 25 hybrids? I know the final drive ratio changed from a 2.91 to a 3.37. I have had the truck up to about 80 mph and it felt relaxed to me. Thanks
This is the first vehicle in a long time that didn't have a tachometer in the dash.

If you want to watch a tach for a normal trip - just to see what it happens to be at different stages - you can go into ET mode and watch a line item.
But you'll be missing other things in center area.

But might be interesting for a trip - like what does it get up to on this on-ramp, what's the initial idle at, what's it going at on this long downhill that sounds so bad with regen air braking.

Also has a value for battery volts - weirdly must be pulling from different place than the PID because mine didn't match.

I also want to investigate this - is this the rolling mile distance it uses for avg mpg it uses for DTE estimates? MC... hmmm.
Maybe I need it running to see something.
