The B&O is much more than just adequate. It rivals the similar high-end Bose audio system we had in a previous Cadillac DTS we owned. Both are excellently implemented audio systems.
It doesn't rival anything high-end. It's a cheap system in a cheap truck with a sticker tossed in to make you believe you're getting something fancy.

According to the statistic I have seen in this forum most of Maverick owners are 50 plus, at that age you lost Anything over 14K hertz, so what's the point? OB is plenty good for me, NPR sounds spectacular.

You won't hear the 6.5 under the back seat
Curious to why you think that, you think because the lack of power and or because of its location? lots of space under the seats and i think it would project sound just fine. I'm literally adding more bass and mids to the rear i'm not sure why you say i wouldn't hear that.. plus factory 4" doesn't produce anything anyways.

I'm 28 years old and love good sounding music so what wouldn't be worth it? plus your argument is frequencies over 14k which I'm not concerned with, id be adding more lower frequencies then higher with this setup. aka use forscan to enable full range to the back and use a component set. to me its that simple.

I'm over 50 and upgraded the doors and dash. I was thinking about the rears and sub, then it dawned on me. Sports talk radio already sounds pretty good :ROFLMAO:

yes it would only work with forscan!! aslong as i get a full range it would be worth it, but you are right if I only get high range then yes id only just change the 4"

Do you have the B&O? I've read people changing the front stock paper cone speakers and getting good quality results.

With b&o you can use a meastro a2b. It states it goes to 24 but my understanding is there is no difference from 24-26 on the b&o

I actually just called Idata and the rep said it would not work but he didn't sound 100%, he mentioned i could buy it to try it which gives me the he's not actually sure impression. regardless I doubt it works either must have changed something, probably the sync4 interface.

Many of us are still concerned with the quality of the ~20Hz - 13.9KHz frequency spectrum that we can still hear, which is most of the spectrum.

Attached are the wiring diagrams for the 8-speaker B&O system. The c-pillar speakers are powered by the ACM. Unfortunately, the B&O systems in Ford vehicle are tuned to be front-stage bias and the rear speakers are just there for fillers which is why you barely hear them.

If you get a component set and put the mid/woofers under or behind the seat, it really won't help a lot. Vocals will be almost gone and muffled, because the tweeters only play the upper ranges where little vocals actually exist. It just isn't a recipe for good sound, regardless of sound level. Even if you managed to mount the mid/woofers somewhere not behind/under the seat, there still wouldn't be a huge improvement, simply due to the way the B&O is set up to be so front biased. I promise you a good set of 4" 2ways in the factory location will help just about as much as the component set, and will sound better for 90% of the frequency range. Just let them play the 120-140hz range and up.

If you plan on upgrading the rest of the system eventually, just get some good 4" and put back there, and you can make them louder later when you get an amplifier/DSP setup that gives you full control over their sound level, and have that extra space for your sub. Once you have the amp/DSP setup, you can cut everything below 150hz, and let those 4" speakers sing without worrying about them popping, haha. Now, a component set in the front is definitely the way to go. Of course, Forscan is also a must. I just don't think you're going to be happy at all with your initial idea is all I'm saying :)

Im having trouble wrapping my head around that it would not sound good, its very front biased because the amount of sound coming from the front plus alittle software jazz, adding in a woofer and tweeter x2 that will be crossed over in the back and receiving full range would play way better no? it would just be like having door speakers in the rear like most cars do. Its from the ACM and would not be a tempered with signal going through the B&O amp.
