I thought I'd share some really good info here, backed up by testing. Change your oils early during break in, get that contamination OUT!

Until I see a study that follows multiple engines in two groups - one with early changes, one without, which then must show a detrimental impact to HP/MPG/lonngevity/etc for not changing the oil early -- I don't see the reason.

Glitter in the oil doesn't mean it is doing harm. The oil filter will catch particles that are large enough to cause harm to the engine.

What is the other Japanese automaker known for longevity and reliable engines? Honda. What did their owner's manual say for YEARS? Don't change the factory oil early due to special break-in additives (most reasoned it was just moly assembly lube).

Yet another YouTube video I won't clickbait on - but at least it isn't AI slop this time.

cue the: "bUt tHeY DiD TesTING!!!"

Oil analysis showing higher wear rates isn't real world impacts - show me a long-term study. Show me that 50 engines with early oil changes, lasted 200k miles vs 50 engines without that needed a rebuild at 100k.

lol.... why does everyone get so defensive on this subject? No one cares what you do with your own vehicle, and no one is going to force you to do something differently.

Just accept people see things differently, do things differently, and have different priorities.

We're all free to choose our own maintenance plan, and live with the results. What's the big deal?

The big deal is the alarming clickbait YouTube video posted. Look at that frame grab in the OP. It triggers you to click it. That is annoying AF.
Oh, and the thousands of others just like it. Its all just a waste of bandwidth.

You will never convince the........ I change my oil every 10k to 20K nuts. Lost cause. Same for flushing brake fluid. You will get I never did and all mine have been fine clueless ones.
Not even genuine authorities on motor oil will convince some folks. The Motor Oil Geek, Car Care Nut, and Engineering Explained are three informative YouTube channels that I always click on.

Big juicy worms of interesting & enjoyable education:)

My first older brother passed when I was 15 but he had a saying that still makes me laugh my ass off:
"Be resonable. Do it my way"

😂 😂

I watch those same yotubers,

For the guy Yotube influencer verse engineer. WHAT engineer do you speak of ? Ford saying lifetime trans fluid ? LOL>

Plus how many engines have you torn apart after documented long oil changes? Me several dozen.

This asinine sentance tells you all you need to know about the poster.

Your "clue" is they used science? WTF

YouTube influencer vs automotive engineer.

One gets paid for clicks, one for designing engines/vehicles/etc. Gee, which one is the authority to listen to?
Actually Lake owns the oil analysis company, yes he is promoting his service via youtube, but that does not mean his is producing fake test results. He is advocating a person knowing exactly what is going on inside of their own powertrain; he promotes knowledge. Manufacturers are promoting less maintenance costs, because that is what most consumers care about, some of us don't. (for those wondering I'm not wasting my breath on this poster, it is for all of the others that read this thread)
