In 1885, with tolerances and oil being what they were, 3,000 miles between oil changes was likely to result in a severely damaged engine, if it lasted that long.
........
Just to remain factual ( ;) )
in 1885 barely anyone knew what an automobile was let alone worry about tolerances or oil changes - yup i am being that guy lol
Ford Maverick Longest hybrid oil change interval?!? 1779580496865-tq

1886 - German patent No. 37345 to Karl Benz of Mannheim. The subject of his patent was the Benz Motorwagen

Back then the forum debates were about how often you should feed your horse:)

Of course, it was easier to spot a neglected horse back then than a neglected engine is today.

It depends.

Longer than 1 year with daily use, no.

How about the guy who drives on vacations only, goes 2000 miles in one year, and the truck was stationary for 300 days a year?
I had my "backup/second" maverick that had less than 1k miles in the first year and remaining oil life was 5% a week or so before 1 year after the purchase date.

This is something I have wondered about.

As you say, with a regular ICE, the starter spins it slowly, relying on something going BANG!!!! to get the party started.

Does the hybrid engine management hold off on spark/fuel until things are spinning well enough to produce oil pressure?
Someone posted a video once that showed his ice rpm. I don't know what the refresh rate on the display was but during the video the rpm was 0 in one frame and was 801 or 851 rpm in next frame. The 3 phase starter is almost instant.

And you know the only hybrids were mules - the cross between a jack ass and a horse - lol
