Both increasing angle and increasing torque will increase wear CVs faster. But if you want more clearance it's worth it

Driving habits can be significant too. Frequent high power in low gears, especially while the wheels are sharply turned, will wear CVs really fast. Refraning from stomping the gas until straight and out of first/second gear also repels cops

Dealership is covering it thankfully, part is on order right now so I'm in a loaner.

I don't want to deal with this in future and don't have money for legit lift. I have 245/70/17 so was thinking of maybe just adding level lift to front end but don't think these will fit even with some trimming.

I read a 1 inch level lift from RC is ok as far as the geometry goes and shouldn't affect cv joints. Might have to get new tires 245/65/17 that will fit better.

Anyone else going thru it?

I just did a levelling kit on my 23 tremor and it fragged my CV joint in under 2k miles. Just the front left though ... the front right is a 2 piece and has some "travel" to it. The front left is 1 piece, and it puts it right at the end of the teeth, which are what completely ground off.

Ford replaced it for me, but told me if it happened again they wouldn't and that I should take off the levelling kit. Which I did. I'll likely put it back on when there's an aftermarket CV that will hold up to some lift. I know there are many options out there for everything aside from the Maverick - but haven't seen anything for our trucks yet

This is a great point. I wonder how many people turn the steering wheel to full lock, then hit the gas. Obviously, not a problem with old-school RWD vehicles, but FWD/AWD are a different animal.

Honestly I loved the way it drove before the lift. I'm gonna keep 245/64/17s on it because it fits without lift but even at that height I still have more clearance than my bronco sport did. I'm not doing crazy off roading a lot just some dirt so I think it will be fine.

My advice would be to keep it lower than 2", and if it happens again on your dime, install the more durable Tremor CVs. Going with a lighter-weight tire might also help.

How many miles do you have on the original CVs, and how many of those were with the puck?

For a friend who has a Maverick that is out of warranty, if they wanted to add the Tremors CVs, what would be your guess on the cost?

Mine a 2023 XLT. With just 9,085 miles today. Stock, no suspension mods, nor special tires. Hope no issues w CVs. If there is, whether Tremor or stock joints, would think newest shafts install, wouldn’t matter as newer shafts probably more robust than these 2023 OEM shafts.

Hey there. Ive been through 3 sets of axles. They will cover it a few times. Once they dont, then do yourself a favor and spend the extra on the Tremor axles. Way way better. And much stronger. They fit right in there. Proven!

I got it pretty early on about 2 years ago. Probably only 13-14k miles. Truck only has 16k now

Not too bummed even without lift I have more clearance than my bronco sport, got some sick tires for cheap and found a set of steelies for 70 bucks. Gonna paint em black and sell my old wheels and tires. Might make out ok and my truck will look cooler haha
