I still think it’s cool I can start my Mav with my key fob in the winter from inside my warm cabin and wait for it to warm up.

Most of the rest of its toys are as useless as hen shit on a pump handle.

Lane assistance,
auto braking,
Adaptive cruise,
The rear back up camera, I figure that is for the fat guys who can no longer turn their head and look back.

We are becoming wimps,

Although, my heated seats and steering wheel has spoiled me thoroughly.

340 mile trip today mixed conditions mostly 80 mph interstate with 20 miles of city and 30 miles of back country roads thrown in.
30.8 mpg in my 24 AWD Ecoboost
:’P

Yeah I’m spoiled.

Call me a wimp because all you say besides lane assistance I think are invaluable tech

Most cars with lane keep (and electric power assist steering) monitor driver input.
on the maverick, it's only torque on the wheel. It's not possible to hold the wheel tight enough for it to believe your hands are on it!

With my Miata, I had to undo my seat belt to turn my body far enough to turn my head far enough to back up!

It'd be nice if they put a halfway decent microphone in the car so Siri could understand what I say.

So you would then have proof that disabling tracking in the menus does nothing?
Never seen that, it must only be an option in newer Mavericks, mine doesn’t have a tracking disable option. Just an option to turn off Fordpass/app and WIFI for updates for the infotainment system.

I can see how it could save a child’s life,
Playing behind the Hybrid that makes no sound as it rolls backwards out of a driveway.
My '25 Hybrid actually emits a tone while backing up. It's rather muted, not like a typical loud obnoxious "beep" like some commercial trucks or construction equipment have.

It sounds something like a slightly higher-pitched cowbell. You can't really hear it much with the windows up, but with the windows down you do notice it.

Richard,
Thank you for this.

Yeah, and the sound comes from under the hood (the front!), while you’re backing up!

Just an FYI, Michelin has been putting RFID trackers in tires since 2017.

Along with Continental and no telling how many other brands not to mention everyday items practically we all have. One would basically have to live under a rock to avoid this stuff. Get over the paranoid some and maybe live a little longer just my 2 cents, opinions will vary no doubt

Search the term: what kind of products have rfid technology

My son who just interviewed for a job at Ford told me about this recently. He said it's so voice command will work even in convertibles with the top down.

That seems like a very expensive investment for a company that only offers one convertible model that has precipitously dwindling sales.

I don’t disagree, but besides the mustang there are soft top and open air variants of the highly popular Bronco if that’s what the feature is supposed to help

Who's to say they won't build more models? Ford said the new low cost EV can support 8 models, but only named 6. A EV Thunderbird might be in the works.

Market trends in general say new convertibles aren't necessary. A convertible is an indulgence for people with considerable disposable income. There are fewer people like that every day.

I did forget that the Bronco is available as a convertible. That seems to be selling well.

What's going to read them?

For what purpose?

Pass your CC with RFID too fast over the reader - what happens?
