So kind of like the one person that played with a bag over their head caused a legal warning to be required.

People complaining that the speech recognition isn't good enough when other noise is going on, or can't read their nod as a yes - get what they want.
At a cost they can't begin to comprehend - because they can't figure out why the speech recognition may have a problem.

Our Mavericks only have sensors in the steering wheel to monitor our behavior.

Ford “Blue Cruise” features a camera(s) to watch you drive. If you “give it the finger” will it interpret that as road rage against another driver I wonder.

Most cars with lane keep (and electric power assist steering) monitor driver input. If too much time goes by without sensing movement the nanny gets upset and you get an alarm.

There certainly is a trend of Ford just patenting the worst stuff then pinky swearing it isnt for us. Like the built in license plate readers that would snitch on everybody, or the auto repo technology.

Built in auto repo tech isn't bad. Disabling a stolen vehicle is good too.

Believe it or not, I dont think its a good idea for Ford to be able to monitor your car at all times and just take it from you if they decide they dont want you to have it.

Just like I dont want Ford reading my lips and trying to judge my emotions whenever I am in a vehicle, uploading and selling that data to whomever wants it.

There are options to turn off data sharing, even OTA updates if you want. I think if someone doesn't make their vehicle payments they don't deserve to keep the vehicle. They can't just take if without cause, and you can be certain they don't want it back; they much prefer the payments. Same thing happens with houses, but of course houses don't move around.

I still think it’s cool I can start my Mav with my key fob in the winter from inside my warm cabin and wait for it to warm up.
Most of the rest of its toys are as useless as hen shit on a pump handle.

Lane assistance, auto braking, adaptive cruise,
The rear back up camera, I figure that's for the fat guys who can no longer turn their head and look back.

We are becoming wimps, Although, my heated seats and steering wheel has spoiled me thoroughly.

340 mile trip today mixed conditions mostly 80 mph interstate with 20 miles of city and 30 miles of back country roads thrown in. 30.8 mpg in my 24 AWD Ecoboost
:’P
Yeah I’m spoiled.

That's the one tech feature I think is essential. No matter how well you turn your head, you can't see much directly behind the truck without that camera. I would yell at you about that in the middle of a showroom floor.

I can see how it could save a child’s life,
Playing behind the Hybrid that makes no sound as it rolls backwards out of a driveway.

Unless you pull the telematics fuse, they are already tracking everywhere you go in every Ford Maverick on the road today.

So you would then have proof that disabling tracking in the menus does nothing?

Yes you can turn things off. That doesnt make the tracking OK to do regardless.

If someone cannot make payments, that is for the bank to handle. Giving Ford the ability to remote control your car is ripe for abuse. All rules must be evaluated on their ability to oppress. Given corpos take and take and take until they break something, we should not encourage this behavior.
