When I bought my 2024 hybrid about a year ago, I consistently got 44 to 45 miles per gallon. All of a sudden, something's changed now with the same driving style, I'm looking at 39 to 40 miles per gallon. It does seem though I have no hard evidence that the electric motor doesn't engage at the same RPMS that it did before but that could just be a perception issue Anyone else having this kind of issue and what possibly can be done about it.

What's the time span for "all of a sudden"?

What's the temp history for that time span?

And if prior fillup was the higher mpg's - what was the temp history for that time span?

Without a scan gauge reading - you'd never notice the difference between 4K RPMs to 8K RPMs on either motor.

Not sure what you mean by engage at the same RPMs.
Starts at 0 when you start rolling and goes up from there.
Traction motor always spinning if moving.

I guess all of a sudden means in the course of two or three fuel fill if you're talking about temperature history it has been colder here than normal does cold weather impact the fuel burn rate?

I guess what I mean in the past when I'm cruising down the freeway and the power meter is below 5% the engine would kick over to all electric and now it doesn't seem to do that.

Cold weather does drop MPG. The closer it is to freezing the more it will drop. Below freezing it gets even worse.

If you are using heat in the cabin, as it gets colder the engine has to stay on longer to generate that heat.

Yup. Winter I get 36 to 39. Other times of the year I get 39 to 42.

Over the year, I get around 40 to 41 averaged.

What can be done? Wait for spring. My normal 49mpg dropped to 46 for the last couple months. Since its almost spring here in NC, I'm back up to 49.

Temperature and gas formulation are the likely culprits.

49 to 46 is not too bad. That relates to a small percentage overall and not much coin. Here farther north with me warming up the engine and running the cabin heat I noticed my trip mileage numbers down by 30% especially when it's below zero. Now that we're having a warm spell (40s) the milage has jumped up noticeably. Still, the Mav is doing better than most.

You are correct, farther north and colder = greater hit to mpg.

Check to see if your ECO setting switches back to NORMAL every time you turn the truck off and back on. My 24 hybrid started switching from ECO to NORMAL every time last October.

I believe the default is changing to normal I would love to have it on ECO all the time but I can't figure out a way to do that

mymavmode will allow it to be on whatever you set it to.

https://www.mymavmode.com/
I don't believe "mymavmode" has a unit that works with the 2025 models.
Here's the install video. 2022-2025.

I've gotten to where I just push the button. Mostly slippery mode. I prefer the coasting profile in slippery mode.
