Yeah on luxury EVs. The cheapest EVs start at about $30K, and for those even sporty ones like the 22 Mini Cooper SE clock in at 6 seconds 0-60mph. Also while EVs are fast 0-60mph, they tend to lose steam for passing on the highway. The SE is the quickest Mini 0-60mph, yet its not any faster in the 1/4 mile for example, and the extra weight of the battery pack makes it slower than a standard Cooper S in slalom and skidpad.I agree. But I'm also aware that 0-60 in 3 seconds is becoming the new normal with EV's so -- These may be the slowest trucks on the planet soon... lol
For example here's a 22 Nissan Leaf and you can see past 70kph the needle slows down its climb quite a bit, even though its 0-60mph time of 6.9 seconds isn't bad:
The all new for 22 Mazda MX-30 sprints to 60mph in 9 seconds. So while Tesla can wow with their plad speed and what not, I think people are in for a rude awakening when EVs lose their heavy subsidies and we start seeing more mainstream affordable ones that are quite slow vacuum cleaners.
