Flat Towing the 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid

We have almost the exact same setup. 2024 LTV Unity FX (Eurosport color) and a 2025 Ford Maverick Lariat white with black out pkg and 4k tow pkg. We are installing the Demco base plate, RVi Shadow 2 brake system and RoadMaster Diode universal wiring kit. We have installed the RM diode kit but the tail lamps on Maverick are working different when connected to LTV and neutral tow is on. In this scenario the top portion of the tail light flashed when turn signal is on instead of the top AND bottom flashing. We watched a few eTrailer wiring installation videos and some have a LTV. What is strange is that the Maverick tail lights work differently in eTrailers videos. How do yours work and which diode kit was used?

Following this. Just ordered our 2025 Hybrid Lariat. Didn't like how they chopped the front to install our BlueOx. Hopefully the 2025 will look better.

I’m staying at a campground where I saw two Mavericks being flat towed the one pictured is a 2022 Front Wheel Drive Maverick that they’ve been flat towing for three years with no issues they tell me this is definitely the best “Toad” they ever towed four wheels down. (Equipment shown is all BlueOx installed on the 2022 FWD Maverick)

unfortunately my new baseplate and NightHawk Towbar from RoadMaster didn't arrive prior to this trip but I did get a confirmation from UPS that it will be delivered on 3/31/2025 so for my next trip in May I hope to be dragging my 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid behind my RV…

New Blue Ox baseplate delivered yesterday from E-trailer for my 2025 Lariat hybrid +4k towing. I have an appointment to have it installed on 4/28. Will send comments and photos when it is complete.

No I haven’t towed my 2025 yet but have experience with other types of vehicles- I like you was trying to get someone here to publish the directions on how they tow and the protocol after they get where they are going

None so far. The Maverick has about 7000 miles on it. Most of it after the Roadmaster install.

Has anyone printed out their step by step procedures they could share from initialing neutral tow through disconnecting the vehicle

By now you've probably seen this. My in-dash manual in the 2025 AWD Hybrid XLT we bought a couple of weeks ago is for a 2024, and when I log into my account on Ford.com I find 3 manuals associated with my VIN - 1 pdf and 2 HTML. These 2 pages came from one of those HTMLs... so the correct manual finally.

See here for the HTML version of the 2025 Maverick owners manual that I'm referencing, which I would think is the most current version:

The last item is the 15 minute wait.

I do see that it does not match what the PDF version (printed version 2) you posted states, so there's a discrepancy between the HTML version and the printed version on Ford's site.

ETA - in small print, the PDF version appears to have an October 2024 date stamp on it:

Randy, I have the Blueox baseplate installed on my 2025 Lariet AWD Hybrid. I'll take a Pic of the front end later today & send to you. I thought the 15 minute wait after towing was Nonsense at first, until one time I needed to unhook from motorhome & move the Maverick quickly. With wife's help we unhooked in probably 30 seconds, I jumped in, foot on brake, pressed "Start" Button, instrument light up with errors. Refused to start. Turned off, Got out, waited about 5 minutes, and started OK. I assume the modules need time to talk to Ford Servers first, which clears the way to Start without problems. My experience is around 5 minutes is a sufficient wait.

The manual you are quoting is the first edition that was in error. Go to Ford dot com and get the second d version, that verifies the 2025 AWD is flat-towable.

I found it interesting that according to the owner's manual, the Hybrid can be flat towed but the EcoBoost models can't.. Must have something to do with the eCVT...

Absolutely true. Regarding Maverick, ONLY the Hybrid is flat towable, not the 2.0EB. I don't really understand why? Many other Ford & Lincoln vehicles (gas & diesel powered) can be flat towed. My previous F-150 & my still owned 2017 Lincoln MKX AWD are flat towable.

Absolutely true. Regarding Maverick, ONLY the Hybrid is flat towable, not the 2.0EB. I don't really understand why? Many other Ford & Lincoln vehicles (gas & diesel powered) can be flat towed. My previous F-150 & my still owned 2017 Lincoln MKX AWD are flat towable.

Looking at a couple of recent Ford/Lincoln vehicles, for 2023 and 22, only the 2.7L Ecoboost Lincoln Nautilus is towable. 2024 and newer, only the hybrid is towable. For 2024 and earlier (at least back to 2022), again only the 2.7L Ecoboost Edge (so just the Edge ST) is towable.

FoMoCo does not make this easy since it is very drivetrain-dependent whether you can tow 4-down or not.

Yes, I went through serious trauma when my dash screen popped up with a warning that I could not "Neutral Tow." A trip back to my dealer and a great conversation with the sales manager walking me through a YouTube video he'd found showing us how to do the settings. Probably by someone here! LOL

Funny, though, that even the sales manager had not been able to find the right owners manual with the page of instructions for Neutral Tow setup... but I have since found it among 3 owners manuals tied to my 2025's VIN on my Ford website login.
