Mave's first snow. Very happy with Maverick Tremor!

Family's hunting cabin had 6" of snow dumped on it this morning. Twisty unimproved mountain roads with steep dropoffs is not how I wanted to learn how she handles in the snow, but I was pleasantly surprised how well she handled (I originally started out in Slippery mode, added 4x4 right after pic).

Other than 2 pucker moments that Id attribute to the crappy factory tires, I couldn't be happier. This truck continues to impress me.

That being said, as soon as I can afford it, Im getting better tires.

My 2025 AWD Hybrid with the Goodyear Territory HT tires did alright with the wet slush pack on my commute today. I was definitely able to find their traction limit inside of the regenerative braking threshold however, and they weren't confident with lateral traction. 5/10 rating, no glaring problems but definitely not something I'd use for severe snow service.

I have Falken Wildpeaks on there, I bought it with 6k, I assumed they were factory. I had Nitto Terra grappler G2' s on my old truck, I'd like to go with them again

Hm. I lost traction with my c.f.t.'s in about 1/4" of fresh snow on pavement yesterday.

My XLT wheelset was removed yesterday for the XL steel wheels and X-ice snow tires. I am cleaning the alloys currently before storage. The FWD does ok, but I imagine a Tremor with snow tires would be completely unstoppable. I was short-sighted and thought the Tremor was unaffordable. It's like we either had money for one but not both, lol.

When I went shopping, I was considering a 25 Eruption Green XLT when I came across this in the CPO lot for a few grand less. Never thought Id own a rental-car white (what my kid calls it) vehicle, but this thing ticked all the boxes plus 4wd & locker.

Id say it was a draw, only because I drove super cautiously... I would have much rather get acquainted with her snow handling here is the suburbs/empty parking lots than out in BFE where a slide off the road means you're going down a steep embankment. Next time though.....(although I did arrive home 40 minutes before he did and we live minutes apart)
