Final drive ratio is the same across fwd and awd hybrids
The 25 Hybrid AWD with the 4K package get the 3.81 ratio rather than the 3.37 that the other hybrids get.
Moral of the story - Don't believe everything you read.

I know the numbers don’t back me up but I’d sure miss my 250 hp and 277 ft lbs of torque if I sold my 2024 Eco for the combined ICE and electric 191 hp of the hybrid. No matter how it felt from a stand still.
Ford has assured I would never buy another one, when they start dumbing down what the common man can afford, count me out,on the Telo they started base 250 hp rwd,500 AWD,I clued them in make the rwd 300 hp( and they did) due to my circumstances now I will probably never own an EV,if I could afford it I would.

That’s not a reputable site in my opinion especially when I’ve quoted from Ford hybrids with 4K get no additional cooling.
The hybrid cooling enhancement with the 4K is an upgraded radiator fan and a transmission oil cooler. It also gets a suspension upgrade and a bunch of other stuff.

No. Just no. Please stop talking like you are the authority on this. I wasn't trying to be difficult I was asking for links to give you a chance to get there on your own.

There is no uprated radiator. There are no suspension enhancements. No differing final drive ratio.

I already linked the Wired article that CITES Abby Grajek, the Maverick's Integration Engineer - which states due to the hybrids ability to run cooler it uses the standard radiator and not the uprated one for Ecoboost.

Here is directly from Ford's website that the final drive ratio for ALL hybrids is 3.37, only the 8F35 and Ecoboost engines get a different final drive ratio.

The info is all right there for you to consume.

Is there a link to Ford for this?
I've been trying to find one, and there seems to be a lot of conflicting information.
From Ford, the 4K package:
Includes: • Trailer Brake Controller • Trailer Hitch (Class III) 2” Receiver with 4-pin and 7-pin Connector • Transmission Oil Cooler • Higher Capacity Radiator (2.0L gas only) • Upgraded Cooling Fan • Conventional 17” Spare Tire (215/70R17)
The rest of the "mystery upgrades" were apparently suppositions made by a number of reviewers as well as statements by Ford sales (always a great source of information).

As far as the original topic, the statement:
  • We think the gains have much less to do with the AWD model's extra launch traction, but rather the updated Maverick's shorter final-drive ratio and a much more powerful electric motor.
I assume that the ratio difference was between the 2024 and 2025 hybrid ratios, and a eCVT difference, rather than anything to do with the 4K package as I incorrectly assumed.

Also explain the ~8% better braking performance 70-0mph...
I was wondering about that though - why the braking difference - AWD doesn't matter then.

Unless the AWD's come with different tires than the 24 FWD.

Unless the tests are under the same conditions, there could be some environmental impacts...

I believe the difference in the 2 versions is the AWD can apply full torque of the electric motor from a standstill vs the FWD model, if you note the 30-50 & 50-70 times the FWD version has a slight advantage, & likely would from 25mph & up.

Believe me, you would never feel the difference between 6 seconds and 7 seconds.
Nothing could be further from the truth. The difference is like night and day in everyday driving. The acceleration is so much more effortless in the 25 model. I have owned both and I know this for a fact. You can feel the difference at much less than half throttle also, and this is what makes it so enjoyable for a normal person.

well unless one is drag racing, i personally wouldn't give a crap about 1 second 🤷‍♂️
It brings the acceleration of the EcoBoost and the Hybrid closer together. To some people it matters because the hybrid is noticeably slower than the Ecoboost . With the times closer, the difference between the two engines might not be enough to accept a huge MPG drop.

I read that that it was only the 4K tow package in the 25 hybrid AWD where the final drive ratio was lowered to provide more low speed oomph and that ratio wasn't installed on the other 25 hybrids.
Edit: it wasn't the hybrid, it was the ecoboost..
All 25 model hybrids have the lower final drive ratio, as all 25's have the HF55 transmission.
