12 Volt Battery Problems in a '22 Hybrid?

Hello!

I have a 2022 Maverick hybrid and the OEM battery had slowly been going bad for a while. About a month ago, it started freaking out BAD. It wouldn't start fully, the most it would do is to turn the lights on in the car and give me a bunch of error messages and turn on just about every warning light in the car. I jump started it and it let me drive it back home until it did the same thing. Then I went and bought the battery in the image attached and installed it. It worked fine for a few weeks but then one day just died. Like dead dead. No lights, no cranking, no nothing. Again, I was able to jump it, then drive it about 40 miles home. Right when I got home and turned the key, it died died again. I left it sit for couple weeks because I didn't have any time to look at it. This time, It wouldn't even jump start. Then, I started messing with the battery harness. I disconnected it and reconnected it. The car started up! For a day, and then dead dead again. Is it the battery harness going bad?

UPDATE: I caved because no one here or on MaverickTruckClub knew what to do, so I asked chat gpt. It told me to clean off my battery terminals and tightened them as much as I could, so I did, and It has been working for a couple weeks now. They didn't look dirty at all but they must have had some film on them or something.

The battery is 3 years old. Replace it!

I had the harness cable overlay recall done on my 2022 years ago. Also did you fully charge the agm before you installed it, reset the bsm, and then run the "new battery learn" procedure?
I didnt reset the bs. Or run the new battery learn procedure. How do I do that?

Sorry, I don't have time right now. In manual or many posts here, search. Battery learn is lock truck and not disturb for 8 hours. Reset I don't remember.

Sorry, I don't have time right now. In manual or many posts here, search. Battery learn is lock truck and not disturb for 8 hours. Reset I don't remember.
Fully charge battery. With ignition on (doesn't have to be running) turn on high beams 5 times then press brake pedal 3 times. Battery symbol in cluster will flash 3 times. Lock doors and let it sit for 8 hours.

Take it back to your dealer and bitch like hell. They will be well aware this problem is widely reported. Although in your case there may very well be an additional issue other than the battery. But don't try and resolve it yourself, make Ford accountable.

I don't know if he was being snarky but I've seen this posted before. There is no way that Ford dealerships do this if it is real as we've had our battery replaced multiple times due to deep sleep and it hasn't sat there at dealership for more than an hour or so I until they finished putting the free replacement battery in so we could drive home. The dealership must have a digital tool to reprogram the BCM.

Open it up and read ....no snarkyness ....

Yes, that is basically how it is done. This topic has been beat to death on this forum, so a simple search would have helped you.

Better yet, get out you manual and read the section dedicated to battery replacement!
