What number of driven mile estimates did you use in your calculations?
I don't recall specifically, but I think it was similar to my 5 year est (bolded below) for the standard EPA 55/45 driving mix. My 5 year estimate is basically the mid point between my high/low annual estimates multiplied by 5.

It will take me 18 years give it take to hit 120k miles. I love the truck, love the turbo and hated my last truck(GM).Situation presented itself or maybe I created it and got a BS and Maverick. Wife(had GM)drives 8 miles a day for work total. Wasn’t looking to save. We wanted vehicles we both liked. I get the hybrid for those that drive a lot because the must.

If you keep your Hybrid Mav until 120,000 miles you will pay $4200 less for fuel vs. the 2.0 FWD. The main differences are HP and fuel tank size.
I know, I know. Millions of different variables can effect mpg.
4200 less for fuel and 1000 less for the up front cost.

You could do better than that if you smoke. Just quit and look at what you would save ;)

Im using the maverick hybrid for my business need to replace the Honda Ridgeline got 2 coming to test them out, the Ridgeline get 19mpg and cost new 40k got 5 of them, goin with the maverick will save me up front around 100k and if I can double the mpg Will pay for the mavericks . Is a no brainer for me. Just on gas alone I should see about 500 per month per truck savings. The maverick is a home run!

I've calculated that considering fuel, upfront cost, and interest/opportunity cost, the hybrid is like to save an owner about $10-15K over 10 years of ownership compared to the AWD EB. So, about $100/mo.
I would calculate it at 18 K miles a year of the cost savings two different ways —at all highway and savings at all city driving?

The 4K if you need it, for sure. I initially calculated the hybrid vs AWD calculation to show the "cost" versus the "value" for marginal AWD user cases (i.e., standard winter driving). It's why I've never really thought of AWD as essential for me in MN, I've been driving in the upper Midwest for almost 30 years (most of that with FWD), and there's maybe once a year where I feel like I want AWD, and that's not worth the cost to me (especially with the huge cost delta for the Maverick).
Well I got AWD for winter weather, but also since we're so close to hitting the climate change tipping point, when the ice caps melt, the flooding of all the coastal plains will definitely disrupt everything and AWD will be the minimum you need to get around. Looking at an electric dirt bike that I can recharge from solar panels to get around in the ensuing chaos when gasoline is unobtainium.

So your numbers are based on 12.5 K a year driving?

I don’t care. I love my eco and wouldn’t change a thing. There’s no wrong choice if you get what you want.
