Hear an alarm if one tries to lock the truck with the fob inside the cab?I don’t think I was clear enough with my original post. To keep it as simple as possible, I left the fob in the truck and left the truck unlocked. I had no intention of locking it because I was going to use it later in the day, but I didn’t. The next day I went to open the truck and saw the fob in there, but the doors were locked. I thought I recall that if one tried to lock the truck with the fob still inside the truck, there would be an audible alarm. This did not occur. I guess my question is simply should one hear an alarm if one tries to lock the truck with the fob inside the cab. This has nothing to do with accidentally hitting the lock on the inside door handle or touching the raised area on the outside handle.
It depends.
Did you push the lock lever right above the handle when you opened the door and then closed it?
No alarm, it's locked.
Did you push the lock all button in front of the handle after the door was opened?
Yes a honk, and all doors unlocked, can't lock that way.
Now you see why there are questions coming back at you - depending on what you attempted, it does matter if you want to know why it happened or to avoid it.
Plus there is some confusion if the 25MY will indeed auto-lock after a time-out period to protect the truck from being stolen.
But very few responses to a request for a test.
But only a valid test - can't manually lock it accidentally as SO MANY have done on pre-25MY's.
