Here's my 6 sec. video shows how easy it is to lock the driver's door by accident.
The key thing was when you said just the driver's door was locking.

Note that I said that the ONLY door that locks itself is the driver's door. It happens most of the time now. Grrr...

There is only one way to lock ONLY the driver's door, and that is to press the manual lock lever on the driver's door. The Maverick's BCM cannot only lock the driver's door from any input. In other words, you are locking that door, not the vehicle itself.

Experienced an odd problem a couple of days ago. I mistakenly left my key fob in the truck with the doors unlocked. The next morning was looking for the fob. I remembered where I put it and went out to the truck but found it locked. I’m not sure how this could’ve happened. If I had left the fob in the truck and locked it, I should have gotten an immediate audible alert. What gives?

I used my wife’s fob which she keeps in the house, went to the truck and was able to open the door. Is this just a one time blip or something that I should be concerned with? Of course, if I keep the fob in my pocket and do not leave it in the truck, I’ve solved that problem, but I would really like to get to the bottom of this.

Yea . one reason I got xlt in 21 for the included key pad ( and cruise control) on truck just in case . rarely used but nice to have . had on previous F150.

No Locky, nada, zilch. But I tried the ‘accidentally’ hitting the handle lock and lo and behold, it was just the drivers door. Passenger, both rears were open, even the damn tailgate wasn’t locked! I'm in such a habit of using a remote to lock vehicle doors that it's (almost) impossible for me to lock keys into a modern vehicle unintentionally. The only time I touch an interior lock button is to unlock a door for a passenger. I also have a rule that my wife must carry the extra key with her when she's riding with me as a precaution.

Some folks just can't believe, that they could be locking it themselves.

P.S., that keypad thingy is really nice.
So nice that for 2026 Ford is bringing the wired keyless pad back at, least on some select F-150 trim packages.

I know Glen, wish it was an option when I ordered mine. Still thinking of the ‘Dealer install’, use up some of my valuable Ford points.

It's not just drivers who actuate the MANUAL lock lever when exiting...
My wife and I both exited my Tremor and closed our respective doors, I DIDN'T lock the truck, either with the key fob or the POWER lock buttons.

A few minutes later my wife and I return to the truck to get in, I of couse had no difficulty opening the drivers side, but..... she exclaimed "why did you lock my door"

I had to explain the whole story of the poorly placed manual lever on these doors and that it is very easy to lock the door without intending to do so....

Remeber the days of those little "knobs" you had to push down to lock the door? You know the ones that poked you in the armpit when you hung your arm out the open windows, Ford should bring those back

Jeff,
Can you please video it? You know showing the door lock is unlocked once it's
open and close it. Then try to open it.
To avoid inconvenience. Open the window first and leave the FOB's inside on the seat or on the roof. The video shouldn't be any longer than 15 seconds.
No one has ever been able to honestly record this happening.
A recording of this phenomenon is more elusive than Bigfoot.
