I can understand the difficult situation they basically put themselves in.

User replaceable item - so you can NOT trust a DIY to enter the correct battery stats, or that a battery of correct stats is used.
Must attempt some testing logic, and hope sensors are correct to give good values to use.

Battery in cabin with people - can NOT over charge so as to cause gassing and water loss.
Cannot trust that vent tubes are installed correctly.
With values obtained from sensors & math - have a charging strategy that will not overcharge.

I get it.
I've seen the reviews of the non-pile load battery testers, where they read some low draws and math out what state of health it thinks the battery is in, and even state of charge from voltage.
And my goodness they don't seem to agree.
And even there - you have to provide what the CCA or CA or RC or Ah the battery is claimed to be.
And they still don't agree on the Voltage, to the level their SOC agrees, or other measurements to agree on SOH. So again down to sensor, or formula's used, or whatever.

So battery not in the cabin perhaps a good start.
And attempt a learning process - but if you put in the wrong size/spec of battery as called for, forget having a fully charged battery perhaps depending on which way you go.
Or require a visit to tech with programmer after battery change.
Or require entering the specs.
And if you fail to do those correctly - again forget having a fully charged battery.

For liability while it's in the cabin - I get the potential.
But allow doing one of those, and go for full charge.
I think it's the other way around. They put their customers in a very shifty position. And somehow ot is the DIY customers fault. EXACTLY how I was treated at first by the dealer until I told them, don't go there! Drive it more trickle charge.....nope. Fix it!

Don't just do something......stand there! This is my second Ford in my lifetime and the last. Awesome little truck but not backed by a good quality builder. Proven everyday by all the constant recalls. Lesson learned, my bad.

Sad but I know where you are coming from.

I finally got SSM 53801 done yesterday and part of it is the battery test - Well, it FAILED again, so I got my 4th free replacement battery with the update. I will test battery again before the 12/12 warranty is up and keep testing until I find a battery that passes!! (Or Ford fixes the problem for good...)

I wonder if the 2025 models have this problem or if it was addressed. I have a feeling this may be a hardware issue that they deem to expensive to fix. So they are trying to cover it up with software that has to many variables to be a successful fix.

I wonder why Ford is not replacing the defective batteries with BAGM-H4 batteries.

It's probably fixed now. New battery. Latest programming in ACCM . I think it's finally fixed based on what I've seen among the vehicles I have updated. We had one that had probably had five batteries and been in either I will shop or another shop 10 or more times. They were about to Ford to buy it back under the lemon law. But the customer dropped the ball and did not file the paperwork in time. So they just parked it the last time the battery died. When the SSM came out., they brought it in to our dealership. We verified that the battery was still good. Then we reprogrammed it per the SSM. I went out of town for 4 days. It was still charged. I drove it once more. ThenThe customer waited another week and a half before picking it up. It was still charged up when they picked it up. They say it's still working two weeks later. It's a business. And they let it sit over the weekend. When they come in Mondays, that's usually when they find it dead. It hasn't happened again

Great to hear!! I hesitated to do program since I was past 3 years, but decided to take care of it since was getting repeated Fordpass warnings about features disabled - I drive .75 miles to work and home and don't go out much so I am 'that guy' who doesn't drive a lot, have 22k over 3.5+ years so usually 5-6k a year

There's a Ford message that says it should be able to survive at least 14 days without being driven if the battery is fully charged before the low battery light comes on. Most will go longer. Also, if they were able to program it again, that means it did not go through because once a module is up to date, it will not allow reprogramming unless special procedures are followed. And usually the hotline has to be contacted. It is possible that the battery is borderline and will fail the next time it's tested. That happened to one of our customers. I was prepared to do a bunch of additional tests. But thankfully the battery failed. It's been over a month. And I saw him around town. He gave me the thumbs up.
My previous vehicle was a 2020 Ecosport SE and I was away a month and got no low battery warning or had any issue with no dome light or the like. That is how the Mav should be. This is nuts.

I checked my 12V status on OASIS this morning and still at 64%, so it appears to have WORKED so far, drove my truck sparingly in the past 5 days since update was done...

I had this done ("air conditioning control module (ACCM) software update), didn't work. Deep Sleep Mode next morning.

I am almost 83, several years ago I had brain bleed due to blood thinner after heart attack with 4 stents installed. Had to learn to walk and talk again. Sr moments since have been helped by eating 1-3 Brazil nuts daily depending on their size and how I remember things like "where did I put my glasses, etc.". Do not eat many as they are very high in selenium but after several months of 1-3 daily my memory is much improved.
You sound quite remarkable in your recovery. Good job of taking care of yourself with the diet for the memory.

Don't feel bad about senior moments. My favorites are looking for my glasses and realizing I am wearing them. Or being on a cell call and telling the person I'm talking to that I'll need to look on my cell phone and start looking for it until they remind me I'm talking on it!

Thanks, try couple Brazil nuts daily for your memory. May take couple months or more but, at least for me helps. If I stop them for a week or so I will start looking for phone, glasses, etc. I am not sure if it was stents, pacemaker, bundle blockage or what but I just got my VA disability increased. Pacemaker shows to help with 57% of heartbeats at last report.

SSM 53801 2022-2025 Maverick - Hybrid - 12V Battery Drain - Built On Or Before 17-Feb-2025
Some 2022-2025 Maverick vehicles with a hybrid powertrain and built on or before 17-Feb-2025 may exhibit a 12V battery drain. This may be due to the software installed in the air conditioning control module (ACCM). To correct this condition, perform a battery condition test as outlined in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables > Diagnosis and Testing > Pinpoint Test A. Service the battery as necessary. Connect a battery charger such as Rotunda GRX-3590 or DCA-8000 to the 12-volt battery. Download and run the "air conditioning control module (ACCM) software update" application in the Ford Diagnosis And Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. If the battery was replaced, download and run the "BCM-reset the battery monitoring sensor learned values" application in FDRS. For claiming, use causal part 19703 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
They have coded the causal part number to the a/c compressor, so it will be covered 3/36, and I already checked and it is covered under Ford Premium ESP also...(not sure about the other level contracts)
I hope that is all. But I bought a 2025 Hybrid Maverick March 28th. In may and June dead batteries, noticed some lights on the dash coming on well after the vehicle w, reloaded the A/ram and still problems. Ford up buying it back I did not h go through my state's lemon law. Just after Ford agreed to buy it, the services department at the dealership was suggesting replacing a modulator panel. I liked the truck, so I got a replacement for the same purchase price.
