picked this up in the parking lot at work today…really hoping it can be salvaged. Does anyone with more knowledge than me know if that’s possible or am I looking at buying new tires?
Appreciate your input!

Doesn't appear to be anywhere near the edge.
Doesn't appear to be worn that much (don't see wear bar though).
Plug/patch easily.

Tis but a scratch!

But yeah, that should be repairable!

Pull through plug/patch repair and drive away happy...as long as the cords were not damaged....

I flat tow my Maverick behind my RV so I always opt for a new tire because of this too risky but I’ve always had good experience with plugs on vehicle I don’t flat tow

I think I'm going to have to patch my rear right as well. It keeps very slowly loosing air. Haven't looked to see if anything is in it yet.

Since it's a wide metal object (not round like a screw or nail) it's more a slice than a hole and I doubt a plug would seal it well. A patch would be a better option but since a wider slice is likely to flex more than a small round hole I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually needs replacement.

Yea . plug should work but most repair shops won't because of liability these days . same with patch .

A patch will do the trick. I used to work in a tire shop, and we were reluctant to use plugs since it can damage the belts of the tire and cause them to separate over time. I've never seen it happen from a plug, but always choose a patch if I have the option.

This was the culprit! They were able to save the tire so I was thrilled.

they put the spare back for me as well. But they didn’t use that blue plastic piece. Is that important? I was thinking I could just as the dealership to put that back on when I get my next service in about 900 miles.

I had very slow leak on one. Wound up being not quite tight enough valve in pressure stem.

Good to hear, did they use a plug or a patch?
