Can this be patched or need a new tire?

I have plugged tires in this area but I know that no tire shop will due to liability issues but I have one on my sports car for three years now exactly like this location. All four tires are asymmetric and directional so can not be rotated.

No tire shop in my area would touch that, it's too close to the edge. Their rule is, it now has to be within the inner treads. B/S I know, but good luck arguing with them. And remember: a tire warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Yeah, that's a good observation. I can see the point about VT being slow. Maybe the plugs will be off shelves eventually.

Perfect place to plug it. I have driven thousands of miles on plugged tire without any issues.

All patched up today and good to go. Discount tires got my $$ when it time to replace the stock continental.
