Look at the "average" values on the left side -- it looks like they are exactly the same for both vehicles in their testing at 76.7. The middle value of 47 and 74 are the 'current' db level I'm guessing.
You would be correct. 47 was vehicle off... 74 was me stopping just before I got home.. Still running/driving.

Anyway, our Mav is replacing a 2009 Pontiac Vibe so I'm hoping it has less cabin and road noise than an entry level hatch back from 2009.
If and when ( more of a when than an if ) I purchase a Maverick, it will be to replace a 2006 Vibe, so I eagerly await your impressions of the Maverick!

The standard Conti tires the XLT comes with are garbage, I don’t know how Ford got Continental to produce such crap, they are the worst Conti tires I have ever driven, it doesn’t help that the truck does not have a shred of sound insulation anywhere.

You get what you pay for. The tires are the first thing to go, then insulate the hood, doors and undercarriage. It will be worth every penny and all the hours of work.

Its what we call decorator ready in the construction business. No frills.

Still a great little truck.!

Is it loud? I would say no. Not loud. Yes, you can hear wind noise on the highway, but it doesn't force you to raise your voice or turn up the radio volume. I think this is a subjective issue. Some may find it loud, others won't. Our hard top Miata is way louder, as is our Cadillac ATS-V. Our Ram is probably the quietest of the group, but at back road speeds, the Maverick is right with the Ram. Hell....its a truck. Perfectly acceptable noise levels imho.

I must have missed this comment somewhere, but what kind of tires come with the Lariat trim?

I had a 2007 Vibe purchased new and commuted in daily until I bought my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. That Vibe (actually a re-badged Toyota Matrix) was super cheap to own and stone reliable with 3,000 mile oil changes and following manufacturer maintenance schedule. It wasn't great for long trips due to low budget ergonomics inside. My Jeep that replaced it is also super reliable and far more comfortable - as to be expected for that type vehicle. I'm keeping it and adding the Maverick to the stable ;)

One person wrote that they had a Lariat with "Falken Wildpeak" tires, and another wrote they had "the goofy Michelin tires" on their Lariat.

I would start another thread on your question, if I knew how :)

Depends on the package. There is stock Lariat, FX4 Lariat, and upgraded wheel and tire package.

Lariat = 225/60R18 Michelin Primacy All Season A/S (Optional on FX4 Lariat)

FX4 Lariat = 225/65R17 Pirelli Scorpion ATR

Upgraded Wheel and Tire Package ($795) = 235/65R17 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W
I have a Lariat Lux with the optional 18'' black painted wheels on the way. I just went to build and price and it's showing the All Seasons on there, unless I misclicked something.

Kinda random, but I think that it was Giovanni Battista Pirelli who once said something to the effect of "the automobile is an accessory to the tires"....

Hope my Maverick Lariat Hybrid (18" wheels) comes with Michelins, otherwise, there will be some tires for sale.
My Lariat EB with 18" did come with Michelins so there is a good chance you will get the same ones.

I drove my maverick home on freeway for 1 hour plus at variable speeds from 75 mph to 35 mph . wind noise was negligible but tire noise noticeable depending on road condition. Radio still not working well so cannot even use it to cover noise if needed . had 2004 f150 xlt supercab with tow package and it had a better ride with reduced noise. It had 5.4 v8 and steady 10 mpg . maverick is getting 22mpg city and 30 mpg highway . l am happy with maverick so far . Would be nice to have a functioning radio that would tune and work normally . maverick 51 awd fx4 .

Do you have the screw-in antenna attached to the shark fin base? Just wondering since that is specifically added by Ford to give better radio reception. There may be some Ford or aftermarket options to add a longer one as well.

Awesome quote. I’m going to use that.

I have noticed that when I start my truck there seems to be a lot of engine noise. Some ticking like what a bad water pump would sound like. Is anybody else experiencing this? Is this common for a turbo?

Just want to make sure there is nothing wrong.

Thx
