Yeah....I was just thinking with the 2 truck option a full EV might work...but yeah....location where it would be a benefit does come into play. Not really a lot of ghost towns/mining towns in Central Texas where I'm at, but it does get pretty desolate out near Big Bend area and West Texas. There are a lot of old stagecoach stops around me, but not much is left to see structure wise. Always cool to Sunday drive and go somewhere you're never been.
From what I've read here, some Mavs are already PHEV. Need a trickle charger for the 12v battery. I hope I won't have that problem.

For 4th of July weekend we went up Lamollie to Canyon in Northern Nevada. Between Utah, Idaho and Nevada where we're driving we may not be within a hundred miles of a charger. I don't want to have to worry about it.
Range anxiety would have totally ruined the trip. When you see a sign out here that says next Services 71 MI but it doesn't contain a charging station you're pretty much screwed.
When I'm at home I don't want to buy gas. When I'm on the road I don't want to be Tethered to a charger. I don't want to have to stay within 100 miles of a charger.
A plug-in Maverick for the win.

I'll repeat this again. No one that I know of with electric vehicle, runs their battery down to zero. Even 350 Mi range is a freaking pipe dream.
Now you'll have the EV Fanboys come back and say well you don't run your gas truck down to zero. My answer is. No, I don't.
I've got the options that EV owners don't have. Namely extra gas can in the bed and I can do that with a plugin too.
You can not do that with EV.
The 350 is mostly getting our families RV's off the mountain in Utah.
This is a Nevada rest area if you aren't driving on an interstate highway. ( you can pretty much add New Mexico, Arizona, Utah Wyoming, Idaho )

Zero interest in a full EV Maverick (or any model) but I'd trade for a PHEV Maverick though. Dual fuel . . . gas for the occasional long trips and electric for the majority of what we use the truck for, trips to town. We have solar power for the whole place and an EV charger with batteries waiting for a PHEV.
Her place is a 7 mile hike past Kerwin. Once passed the last Forrest campground, it's a rugged road carved upon the land by heartier people than me. You'd also pass an old dude ranch called the Double D, still somewhat preserved. Multiple river crossings(you can't even get there during spring runoff).John,

I spend most of the summer in Utah and the rest of the year in Nevada. I've driven through Texas a lot, but never lived there. Now a days, most of my exploring and touring, starts in September - October.. I hate muddy fields and roads.
Sorry, I'm just learning this site. For some reason, I thought you were from Texas. Traveled last summer with a best friend to Vegas though Utah. 5000 miles total. MT,DS,WY,UT, and NV. Thirteen times through seven national parks. It was a blast!
