Has anyone flat towing a hybrid have an issue with the brakes locking up if you locked the truck? The second time for flat towing on my return trip anytime I locked the truck the brakes would lock after about five feet, unlock the doors and it does not do that.

Did you try locking the doors manually instead of the power lock?

My hybrid is a 2024, but I've never seen this. What is your tow brake system? Is it the brakes being applied, is the transmission going into "Park" mode, or the parking brake being activated? Do your brake lights come on? Probably need a lot more info to be able to help.

The answer is in the manual. Are you putting it into neutral-tow mode, or are you just closing the door and towing it. If the truck detects that it is rolling without being in drive or neutral-tow, that's an expected reaction to stop a crash.

No I did not, I will try that in another week+ for the next RV trip.

Neutral tow mode was set, no breaking system installed yet, (dealer was supposed to do it with the Demco install, but they all of a sudden became nervous with hybrid).

So, if there is no towing brake system, the braking is coming from either the transmission switching to park or as Master Blaster says, the brakes are engaging due to the Maverick sensing a problem. I can only imagine that happening if you forgot to turn off the Maverick ACC after setting the neutral tow mode.

Hmmmm, maybe that was, I was sure I had turned it off but when it happened a second time. I went through the process again, so that May been the issue.

I flat tow my 25MY hybrid a lot, no problem, always lock the doors with key fob after exiting vehicle. Before initializing neutral tow mode, I always double check that A/c and Blower motor are turned off on 13" touch screen. Then after completion of neutral tow, the dash screen displays a confirmation you are in neutral tow mode. Then you shift into Neutral, release your foot from brake pedal, lastly turn Off ignition. {NOTE: make sure you release Brake pedal before pressing the Start/Stop button to shut off }. Good Luck!

I'm not positively sure A/c & blower OFF are a factor, but pretty dang positive turning off Accessory Mode IS important. Hopefully all works well next towing trip.
