This is a really, really great question. Shame you didn't get an answer. I suspect the ICE really does have a 12V starter (because there's a million options for that in the industry, and I suspect very few [no] 220V ICE starters), so CCA still has some significance. But wouldn't it be awesome...
So, if there is no towing brake system, the braking is coming from either the transmission switching to park or as Master Blaster says, the brakes are engaging due to the Maverick sensing a problem. I can only imagine that happening if you forgot to turn off the Maverick ACC after setting the...
My hybrid is a 2024, but I've never seen this. What is your tow brake system? Is it the brakes being applied, is the transmission going into "Park" mode, or the parking brake being activated? Do your brake lights come on? Probably need a lot more info to be able to help.
Ugh. Sorry to hear that. You definitely do not want any play in the baseplate at all. Hope it's just a simple loose nut or two. Definitely pays to use threadlocker on these things!
I have not 100% validated that yet, however, I did find a replacement module on eBay (really cheap!) hoping that was the problem, and it did not solve the issue. The dealer inspection on the issue concluded it was a wiring issue (although I don't really know how they did that, as they did not...
I honestly have not fixed it yet--I ordered new connectors and am ready to fix it, but I haven't had a chance to pull the grill off and redo the wiring. I will post when I do. Frankly, the easy solution is the bypass plug you can install under the rear seat! Worth avoiding the labor!
Yes, they appear to be tabless--the round receptacles int he baseplate accept adapters (the silver items in the picture) for all makes of towbars (not limited to Demco brand towbars).
The Stay-in-Play brake system is activated by the brake light signal (both rear brake lights on simultaneously)...
Looks great, and I'm glad Demco has a 2025 solution. I am all Demco on my 2024 Lariat. I'm fascinated that they installed your brake cylinder like that, however. I installed my cylinder exactly like that and on my third time out the cable broke. After sending the factory my installation...
While the 2025 can be flat towed, you may want to wait until you are sure there is a good baseplate in the market that works for the 2025. The front radar/ACC package has been relocated on the 2025 to a place where the existing baseplates typically covered. It sounds like Blue Ox may have a...
The challenge you will find is that two of the three available base plate options for Mavericks will not work with the 2025's relocated radar package, and the one (Blue Ox) that presumably still works has significant issues as documented in this forum in multiple threads. So you may have a...
I have the Stay-in-Play installed as well. I highly recommend the pressure gauge and adjustment valve as well to prevent over-breaking from the system (described elsewhere in this forum). By default, the Stay-in-Play assumes power assist brakes not present on the Maverick, so you may get harder...
The relay is needed to prevent the Maverick brake lights (activated by the Brake Buddy) from overriding the turn signals from the coach. Without the relay, the rear light gets both the coach flashing signal and Maverick brake solid signals, so it can be confusing for drivers behind you.
When you leave the steering wheel free, the toad will cut into sharper turns and not follow as true behind the tow vehicle. Usually not a problem except in tight places like gas stations. But it seems some cars detect the steering motions while “off” as an error condition and you get the 4th of...
