Anybody else use scheduled starts to pre-cool their mobile oven so it’s drivable when they get off from work?

Yes! This is one of the most useful features added since AC was added to vehicles!!!

Heated steering wheels. Heated seats. Remote start. It's amazing what a pansy modern amenities are turning me into. :)

Obviously, you're too young to have grown up with no AC and crank windows.

Suck it up, buttercup.

At the age of 52, I’ll take the youngin compliment. Also grateful I’m not a miserable old fart 💨

Cab cools down so fast that I don't really see the point.

*edit - counterpoint, I thought remote start in the winter was a useless / wasteful comfort too, but I did start using it to turn the vehicle on ~5 minutes before leaving below ~20F, maybe closer to 10 minutes at 0F or less. Didn't seem to hurt fuel economy, and I'm sure it's better for the engine to have the oil warmed up when it's below freezing before driving long term. Obviously the reverse is not true for summer + AC though.

I like to experience a little of AZ - 120 F and below 20% humidity, when I get in.
Surprisingly I can take it for a decent while.

Actually feels better than 90 and 50% - which is what it eventually gets to just pulling in outside air - then the AC comes on.

Being retired, I don't have much of a schedule (Hooray!), but when the weather is extreme, I do use the Ford Pass app to remotely start the Maverick. It's a nice bit of technology that makes life a bit more comfortable. Glad to see the Ford Pass is still free. Other car makers want you to subscribe $$. Talking about you, Hyundai!

Seeing the heat index has been around 112 to 115 here in Misery. I've been using it for the last 3 weeks works great.

The advantage of a hybrid, AC cooling is instantaneous when you start since the AC is electric. It does not rely on RPM’s to start the AC cooling.

This is my first pickup with electric windows, to say nothing of heated seats. But I am old and like being spoiled. (And can now afford it)

Of course I COULD suck it up. My first car was a '79 Corolla with vinyl seats, crank windows, & no AC. My 2nd car was a Dodge Daytona with T-tops and a broken AC for 6 years. You think no AC is bad in SC? Try having no AC and glass T-tops...they let the sun in!!

The question isn't "CAN I endure a hot vehicle?" The question is "Why would I, when remote start exists?" Next you're going to be saying we should turn off the AC in our house when we leave and turn it back on when we come home. That's what we did with the old window units. :)

I didn't have remote start on previous vehicles, but it was something I really wanted and have used it regularly during really cold winter days and really hot days. Haven't "scheduled" one yet. Usually 5 - 10 minutes of prestart is good enough to bring it to a comfortable temperature. A really hot day a few days ago, that was pushing it to its limit.
