I had Carvanna and Chevy dealer offers in hand. The Ford dealer offered the same as Chevy which was 1500 less than Carvanna. So I started walking out. The general manger asked why I was leaving I said to sell to Carvanna then I would be back. He agreed to split the difference which was what I was wanting for it to begin with. Never dealt with Carvanna so didn't really want to do that.
Nice.
Since Carvana has a disclosure or such about final offer is based on inspection - I've always wondered how much an initial offer was lowered due to finding all the scratches or other issues they'll report when you look at cars? I was initially impressed by that when looking for the Maverick.
Then realized of course they save money disclosing all that up front and avoiding send backs. And they gotta have it all down anyway in case a vehicle is sent back with more scratches.

Looks like $1000 off MRSP to me which is much higher than I paid.

We were, however it ended Monday."
So I stand corrected, they were until July 7. You squeezed in under the wire.
From a couple of the videos Tim posted it sounded like Ford was throwing some incentive money around and that they had some wiggle room to do the below employee pricing. How much money I don't know. I think mine amounted to about another $400 below that so there was probably more room than that. I assume that is where my dealer got the room to give me the quote he did below employee pricing.

It was just lucky timing as Ford increased the military cash back from $500 and made it $1000 which also expired on 7/7. I was just trying to get in under the wire for the military offer expiration.

I been over here running the calculator and I still think they took money out of my pocket. Looks like they did tack on that dealer fee after the fact so they ended up taking $500 of my money it would appear. I just messaged the sales guy over there. I will see what can be done to correct this.

Hopefully they aren't using the line description that says Dealer Advertising Fee for it.
Back pages of Consumer Reports used to highlight true goofiness on dealer invoices sometimes - I'm sure I recall something pretty close to Dealer Extra Margin or such - close enough you knew they meant extra profit.
Now it would be Dealer Extra Employees standing around fee.

I will find out what they think this is all about tomorrow. Sales rep already left for the day, but replied back for me to call him tomorrow.

Dealership (f150 servicing dealer ) near me was PITA for ordering process and originally decided not to order Mav . 2 months later decided to look for cancelled Mav orders and found my maverick at dealership about 1.5 hrs away . reserved Mav over phone and went to dealership to test drive / purchase (msrp paid ) Mav when dealer received . everything ready for purchase (about 2 hrs total ) and drove home . easy peasy . pleased so far with Mav .

Here's what your rep will do, if he can't dazzle you with his footwork, he will try to confuse you with his B.S. Good luck

I am expecting a song and dance... Not as good as a singing and dancing frog, but probably entertaining for those he works with.

That warranty would likely partially run concurrent with the factory warranty until month 37 so you're paying $ to protect what doesn't need protecting.
that's not how they work!

Things that were covered under warranty remain so; on legitimate policies (manufacturer & credit union), this is reflected in the price.

So buying it earlier appears to lock in a lower price.
It's also a selection issue: near the end of warranty, there will bear relatively more people with problem vehicles than good ones that want the extended warranty. At the beginning, though, it's equal odds for all.

I have not heard of anyone ordering a 2025 for lower than employee pricing.
pretty much every single person that ordered from granger, or got a local dealer to match granger (including myself).

For the latest installment of the dealership games... It is like Hunger Games, only with finance guys and sales managers... LOL

I called the sales rep this morning. Explained again what looked like happened. Copied and pasted the quote and comments from when our deal was struck what the bottom line was with fees etc all in. He looked it over, went back to our text chat we had, and confirmed what I was saying is factually what happened. He reviewed the quote that was sent to me and confirmed that is what was sent to me. He said he would have to send it over to finance to figure out where they came up with these numbers from. The vehicle price was wrong, plus the added fees were not supposed to be there.

I was told the finance guy would call me back. Finally this afternoon the finance guy calls me back. He acts like he knows nothing about what is going on so I walk through it all again. He initially tried to say the fees are normal. I said yes they are normal, but if you look at the quote I was provided those fees were already in the quote. That was the OTD all in price. So he shuffled, went back and forth looking at the documents and finally said, I don't know where we got those numbers from! I need to talk to the sales manager about this and he will call you.

So a few hours have passed and I get a call back from the finance guy and he said he thought the sales manager was going to call me, but he spoke with him and agreed after looking at everything that they do in fact owe me some money. I was told a check will probably be sent out some time next week. I will reserve any further judgement until then. If they come through with the refund without any further drama I will upgrade my rating of the dealer experience. So that is the latest installment of as the car dealer turns...

If you want business and dealers in your area you have to support them.
I did buy local. They matched the granger quote.

And after the stunt at pickup, I will never deal with that dealer again.

Anyway, granger would have been halfway to another trip to see grandkids for me, so . . .

I got my Mav from Shults Ford in Harmerville PA. Salesman was easy to work with, no BS. no games. We spent more time in the truck with the salesman going over all the features and setting up our phones etc than we spent doing paperwork. I asked them for a service contract price and they were twice what Granger wanted so i bought it from Granger and they were fine with that. All in all a smooth experience and i love my Mav. I put a 10 yr 60K warranty on it since i am retired and have 4 other vehicles available to drive. I would do business with them again if i needed another Ford.

My final follow up on this topic. The dealer did acknowledge that the paperwork and the deal was completely messed up. Once I pulled all that info back up and sent it to them they acknowledged that what I said was right. After some back and forth they agreed to send me a check for the over payment so that it all lines up with what was agreed to. That check finally arrived in the mail along with the title and paperwork for the DMV to get it registered.

It took a while to get this sorted out, but they did in fact honor their word and kept the deal we agreed to. Should it have been this way? No I have mixed feelings about the experience, but I did get the truck for the agreed upon price.

I filled out the Ford questionnaire and put some notes in there about the delivery experience needs some work. Praised them for doing the quotes, ordering, and follow up all online, text, phone and not having to step a foot into the place until I was ready to pick it up. The entire process for pickup needs to be streamlined. You should be able to walk in the door, inspect the vehicle, sign paperwork, get your keys and go in no time at all. I didn't mention the way the deal got messed up. Just no room in the form for a book. I will leave it to Ford and the dealership to sort that part out.
