I would have thought BB gun, but thankfully we have MTC members to consult with and steer us to more likely reasons.

Here's the story. I noticed some small circular depressions on the tail lights of my Accord the other day. They're maybe 1/8" in diameter and feel like a little crater in the plastic when I run my fingers over them, almost like someone started to drill some holes through it. There are multiple on each light housing/assembly, my initial impression was that someone had shot it with a BB gun. I found the same thing on the tail lights of 3 of the 4 cars in my driveway, an Accord, Focus, and my Maverick. I also found them on the Mavericks 3rd brake light. I googled it and couldn't find anything on it. All of the "damage" is on the rear light housings, I found none on the head lights. All of my cars were parked front-in, rear ends towards the street. Upon further investigation they appear to be symmetrical, in roughly the same spot on each side of the vehicles.

The question: Is this some sort of normal product of the manufacturing process, does anyone else have this on their mavs, or have I been vandalized with extreme accuracy?

Most of the things you worry about never happened anyway….

Dude, those are completely normal imperfections due to plastic molding. You need to find a big fat Indica joint and relax.
🤣🤣🤣LOVE IT!

>Someone shot my tailights?

but I did not shoot the deputy!

Anyway, after review of the original security footage, instead of newer releases, it's clear that the taillight shot first!

Nope, mine have the same little knobs from the manufacturing process as Terry mentioned!
I have a '25, so no knobs!

😜

OK, molding experts. Why no similar marks on the headlights?

High quality produced molding, either glass or impact resistant plastic not like that they use on the rest of the car doesn’t produce gas bubbles or has pinpoints for injection
All plastics all moldings are not made the same. Some are cheaper cause they just cover up bulbs and if they crack or fog, it’s probably within the warranty. Headlights are government controlled.

If you suspect BBs, with that amount of damage across multiple cars, you should be able to locate at least a couple BBs on the driveway.
And probably some dead birds, squirrels and chipmunks.

Well it sounds like I was looking for trouble where there wasn't any to be found. At least I gave some of y'all something to laugh at, I appreciate all the answers provided.

I'm aware of the little circle spots left on injection molded plastics, and this didn't seem like that to me, also I've been driving and washing these cars for many years and have never noticed it before. On my accord one or 2 of them DID have some cracks spreading out from them, that's what initially made me think impact points form a bb gun. That car is 25 years old though, and it may just be age causing the cracks around the slightly thinner weak spots in the plastic.
