I was eyeing the top ones, but won't be the Beta tester for China Lights. Once there is enough honest feedbacks I'll look into them more.

I am wondering if anyone has used either of these smoked taillight replacements on their Maverick, and if so, how do you like/dislike them?

I doubt that they are legal in California. It doesn't say that they are DOT-approved, and the lack of visibility with the smoke appearance is probably an issue.

Only headlights are required by law to carry a DOT marking. Even then, the marking only indicates that the manufacturer certifies that the headlight was made in compliance with DOT requirements, not that it is certified by the DOT.

Also, don't buy aftermarket lights if you have CP360. CP360 trucks have sensors built into the tail lights.

I'm intrigued by the first one, but would really like to see a few reviews (at least) and a video of their operation. Absolutely not buying them blind.

No, not false. There are radar sensors in the tail lights, ever notice the yellow light in the mirrors? That is the BLIS ( Blind Spot Information System) They ARE in the tail lights.

The first set of lights that has a amber turn signal. That would be awesome for the people that are Military and want to bring their Maverick overseas. Most European countries require amber turn signals separate from red running and brake lights. I have seen some cobbled together parts to make US Spec vehicles pass the requirements. And they aint pretty at all.

I personally like the look of the stock tail lights. I just wish they also incorporated an air raid sirens to alert the driver behind me that I am on the brakes :cwl: . I don't like either of the 2 you posted but I also liked the old turbine tail lights of the early 60s.

I really like that turbine design of that old Thunderbird (I Think) taillight, but I don't see a good way to incorporate into the Maverick taillights. I also like the design of the original taillights I have but I want them tinted a bit. I may just get them tinted and then add some LED bulbs and resistors to give it the look I want. I appreciate all the comments from everyone. If anyone has any other suggestions for how I should tint my taillights to get them to more match the grey color of my truck, or any other recommendations for replacements, I would appreciate them. I am kind of looking for a mono-chrome grey appearance. Here is an experiment I tried on my front Ford badge. I will go for something like that eventually, but maybe just a bit lighter (or same) tint. Thank you all for your help and input!

I used this back in 1993. I made custom plexiglass headlight covers for my 1983 Chevy C-10 truck. Worked really well. Here is the LINK

It is really runny. If you use it, try to take the lights out and lay them sort of flat. But it did what I think you are looking for.
