I can't comment on the laws of your State; but here (Ontario,Canada) we have laws preventing unscrupulous salesmen from these tactics. The salesman I ordered from actually pointed this out to me. We have an agency called 'OMVIC' which governs Ontario from these types of actions. You probably have one too in your state.

This is 100% not Ford... I've already confirmed that. I know the dealership owner personally and have already reached out to them. I will follow up with what I find out.

Sounds like it worked out for you. Probably because of your connection with the owner. Glad to hear it.

Some other folks who did not get binding paperwork when they made their order have not been as fortunate. Price bumps, add-ons, whatever.

Since I know the owner, I trusted that this wouldn't be an issue.

If you know the owner, then tell the owner that he runs a scumbag operation. You say he's "standup", but if so, he would mandate a standup culture within his organization.

When I bought my 18’ Mustang out of state the finance manager tried hard as hell to sell me paint protection, tire protection, extended warranty and GAP insurance. I said no to all of it. His demeanor went from friendly and smiling to cold and matter of fact. LOL. I said nope because I do my all of my own work.
