Checked the error logs - no logged DTC's since I reset the ACCM module.
Of course I never had the intermittent drain anyway.
But still interesting. Communication errors a big reason for module issues.
How did you reset the HVAC module? I have the same issue, when I pull codes it will show an error for it.

Right at start of video for ACCM.

What a joke. My car sat in the dealer 3 months awaiting a fix? No worries. CA lemon laws protect consumers. I’ll be getting a 100% refund soon.
For this????

Or for the rear camera recall issue that caused a stop sale?

Yes, I am.
Wonder how well you could time it for convenience, to finish killing it off?

Do the No-No of reset the BS so it thinks a new battery, while the voltage is low enough for Battery Saver to have been enabled.
So then it removes the battery saver because it thinks all is well - runs lights & power ports at max time.
Also stops the charging strategy even to the sad low level it was using, going even lower.
That should take it out faster.

And then when the next day is going to be convenient for going to dealer to test and replace the battery, you rock out to the radio the night before, confirming ACC mode only used.

Perhaps open the doors and you and the misses could dance in the truck bed!

Wouldn't you bring happiness to the neighbors that way too?

darn, of course I just had my Mav serviced what looks like two days before the fix came out on the 16th. . I did get a new battery and other recalls done but not the test/fix you posted about.

They may be able to back date the fact you got a new battery already - and this is to hopefully prevent it's early death.

Interesting never thought to check Forscan, thanks.
I wouldn't think resetting it would accomplish anything, since it needs reprogrammed.

"Download and run the "air conditioning control module (ACCM) software update" application in the Ford Diagnosis And Repair System (FDRS) scan tool."

My truck is literally in the shop for this on Friday. They ran all the tests, everything came back good. even the battery, which for the past year sits at 11.7 volts when I check it. Called Ford, they wouldn't help, said I'd have to bring it back again even if it is not under warranty. 700 miles and 2 weeks until mine is expired. Oh well, guess I should just by an AGM and get it over with.

Huh.
New test:

Turn off A/C and HVAC prior to turning off truck and maybe no deep sleep?
I've had DS a few times, first was triggered due to body shop work - no surprise, sitting for a longer time, but nothing lately. Maybe I turn off my A/C and or HVAC often enough? I usually do...
This test may not work, I have HVAC turned off completely often on cool mornings, and I get deep sleep all the time.

The SSM before they had the update said to disconnect the negative battery terminal to accomplish a system reset.

Forscan method resets the actual module that appears to cause a parasitic draw if it intermittently gets into some state.

We've both noticed that the module does indeed appear to get into a communications issue state. Frequently in my case.
But I've never had a drain, so whatever extra must happen, hasn't yet.
Well, if I can reset it, and it seems to have stopped a communications issue - why not?

Because right now I'd not get a software upgrade anyway - as I don't have an issue of intermittent battery drain.

I have the frequently under charged issue, and I"m not under any illusion that a reset to ACCM will fix that.

With out reading too much, there is probably a solenoid that remains close and therefor is powered by the 12 V battery and it should be open so it will not drain the battery. Is my guess at least
Possibly but take into consideration that a solid state "switch" / relay etc which has no moving parts electrically operates like an "air gap" solenoid/switch and can "malfunction" or in some cases be designed to have a very small electric draw even if it's not sending current to whatever is controlled.

When you power down, right?
I seem to always turn the AC off, and usually fan too - no idea if that makes a diff. for me. ? If I get enough deep sleeps, I'll try and get a dealer intervention or an AGM on my own dime.

Going camping this weekend - unloading the truck and in/out seems to always get DS for me. That is just a weak ass battery and not AC software, I think. Oh well.

Yeah I'll have the entire thing powered down, no AC, no fan, from start to finish of a trip, both to and from work at times. If I charge the battery with an external charger I'll get 5-7 days before deep sleep symptoms return. But I must make it clear that I very rarely go without the fan running every day. I only use AC on warm/hot days, so it isn't used heavily outside of the summer months, and during winter when defrost is often on to keep the windows from fogging up.
