Interesting. I have the battery going dead mostly in the winter. I charge it monthly so it doesn't go dead but do lose dome lights and battery warning oh phone ap. . . I always leave the HVAC on during winter. BUT in summer rarely use AC so the HVAC is almost always turned off summer time and don't have the battery issue. I assumed because I drive more in the summer that was why no battery issue during summer time. .
I'm in San Diego so rarely need the heater in the winter☀😎

Wow, so what is that like? Is it like that all the time or what?

Asking for a friend...

We flew through San Diego back in March of 2020...wow, just beautiful weather and area, it seemed to us anyways. Nice airport and people. Seemed to have good battery life winter weather.

;-)

Hummmmm. Perhaps there is no true "winter" weather in San Diego.

Did you visit right before the covid lockdown? As for the weather, San Diego does get cooler, but the surrounding mountain areas does get snow.

Yes, it was. We were transferring to another flight to Fresno as we were looking at property for sale.

Meandered/looked all the way down, eventually through Palm Springs, passed by the Salton Sea, took hwy 165 to Isabella Lake (loved that back highway drive, back roads are so much better than major highways!), then Yuma, Tucson etc.

Stayed away from major hub airports except for Houston out of Tucson and took appropriate precautions.

Got home just before flights shut down...absolutely stayed away from Chicago as that is always a ...show and it was bad there, that weekend with everyone rushing home from Europe...situational awareness works at many levels and ....situations...

Thanks for the reminder of another great trip!

I can't wait to hit the road again this summer, time to turn and burn as T's & P's are good, weather is getting nicer as far as the eye can see, in my world at least.

Can someone break it down into simple words for us morons out there?
With out reading too much, there is probably a solenoid that remains close and therefor is powered by the 12 V battery and it should be open so it will not drain the battery. Is my guess at least

Your numbers are waay off. 50% charge in an EFL battery is roughly 12.0V, and about .1V more on an AGM one. Your 9.5V reading is well below 10.5V that is normally considered to be 0% charge on either battery type.
There is something wrong with your tester.
This wasn't a tester reading.

That was from an SSM that stated those are the 3 cases where Deep Sleep will be initiated.
Any one of them.
Ford also references hot or cold extreme.
https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...y-does-my-ford-vehicle-enter-deep-sleep-mode/

SSM 51449 2020-2023 Various Vehicles - SYNC3 - Inaccurate Deep Sleep Notifications In FordPass/LincolnWay

Some 2020-2023 Ford and Lincoln SYNC3 equipped vehicles may experience an inaccurate notification in the FordPass®/LincolnWay® app indicating Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode. Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode message is expected if the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SoC) drops below 50%. If the vehicle is going into deep sleep outside these conditions, this may be due to the telematics control unit (TCU) software. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the TCU to the latest software. For claiming, use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

The issue being with ACCM rang a bell - checked my Forscan Lite error logs.

Audio Control Module (ACM) sometimes has an issue communicating.

ACCM very constantly does. U0100. Almost daily.

Get a module in a state where it just wants to finish that communication - it'll keep trying again and again. At least mine ends with error it seems.
Now, if the ECM/PCM is indeed off at a certain point, does the ACCM stay up trying to finish last task?
Don't know - but that's a known way modules cause a parasitic draw, they shouldn't be on but they are. All kinds of fun youtube videos on them.
Explains why SSM used to say disconnect negative battery terminal to reset the system.
I just reset that module, just for grins, to see if communication issue shows up again, and reset the DTC's.

Screenshot_20250516-123130.jpg
Checked the error logs - no logged DTC's since I reset the ACCM module.
Of course I never had the intermittent drain anyway.
But still interesting. Communication errors a big reason for module issues.

What a beautiful drive! If one has never done it, one should take a long road trip at least once in their life! You see so much more and the places to eat are historical at minimum!

Eight months ago I pulled fuse 11/12. Charge the battery and did the relearn. I haven't had a problem with the interior lights not coming on for eight months.
Wednesday last week I replaced fuse 11/12 in anticipation of taking my truck in for the camera recall. Saturday I drove at 60 miles. Yesterday Sunday and this morning open the driver's door no lights. Coincidence I don't think so.

Are you still within warranty for a new battery if needed?

If so, perhaps you need to encourage it along!

SSM 53801 2022-2025 Maverick - Hybrid - 12V Battery Drain - Built On Or Before 17-Feb-2025
Some 2022-2025 Maverick vehicles with a hybrid powertrain and built on or before 17-Feb-2025 may exhibit a 12V battery drain. This may be due to the software installed in the air conditioning control module (ACCM). To correct this condition, perform a battery condition test as outlined in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables > Diagnosis and Testing > Pinpoint Test A. Service the battery as necessary. Connect a battery charger such as Rotunda GRX-3590 or DCA-8000 to the 12-volt battery. Download and run the "air conditioning control module (ACCM) software update" application in the Ford Diagnosis And Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. If the battery was replaced, download and run the "BCM-reset the battery monitoring sensor learned values" application in FDRS. For claiming, use causal part 19703 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
They have coded the causal part number to the a/c compressor, so it will be covered 3/36, and I already checked and it is covered under Ford Premium ESP also...(not sure about the other level contracts)

What a joke. My car sat in the dealer 3 months awaiting a fix? No worries. CA lemon laws protect consumers. I’ll be getting a 100% refund soon.

I’m on my 3rd battery on a ‘24 Mav — 15 month old vehicle. At first they just replaced the battery, 2nd time (2 wks ago) they also did the BCM reset, but no ACCM update. I’m now scheduling the (mobile) service to come and update the ACCM software 🤞🤞. I’ll let you know if that works.

This is definitely getting old …
