Not a mechanic or engineer so just speculating here.
I have to wonder if this isn't some sort of quality control wiring or connection problem they aren't figuring out.
My 23 hybrid has never had this issue that I know of. Never came out to start up and had any of these symptoms or drained battery in ~ 32000 miles. Presumably I have essentially the same battery and software as everyone else.

...The optimization mode with limited voltage pulses is automatic and is designed to run with battery in vehicle...
Thanks.
This is what I use. My NOCO doesn't even have a high voltage repair mode.

Do you use the Ford Pass app?

That's why you would never hear about Deep Sleep mode then, when battery is in really rough state.

Noticed interior lights not staying on as long after entering, or upon opening door to exit?

That would be part of Battery Saver feature to try to prevent battery from getting into a rough state.
But harder to notice as it's gradual as the battery state gets worse.
Until you just notice immediate off in either case.
Usually winter it's noticed as it's darker more often when getting in/out of truck.

Use AT&T cell service?
Since the big carriers are usually on the same tower though - how is your cell service where the truck happens to park the longest?

My new 2024 Lariat does not deep sleep yet, but my 2020 Escape hybrid does as soon as I turn it off, I learned from someone that you should lock it with the FOB and it doesn't kill the battery as fast.
With your escape, have them to perform a battery monitor reset. That's what I do at our dealership when a vehicle goes into deep sleep too quickly. . Most of the time it works.

Can it be done with forscan?

No. Search for "reset Maverick BMS" in the forums.

Note that it should NOT be done unless the battery is fully charged first, unless you want to tell the module that your partially drained battery is the new state to be considered to be full.

Not sure why a Ford tech would leave that critical bit of infomation out.

I’m not sure since I work at a ford dealership And only use our scan tool. But many aftermarket scanners do have the capability to perform a battery reset since it’s supposed to be done every time a battery is replaced.

Since replacing a battery is a user maintenance item - the manual spells out how to reset the Battery Sensor (BS) after that is done. Read the section so you know what else MUST be done!

There is NO BMS reset, wrong term used. Maybe on other trucks - not the Maverick.

Do NOT do it unless you have fully charged battery - doubling down on advice above that should have been included in the comment.

If your battery is hanging down under 50% SOC and that's why the Deep Sleep is coming on, then doing the BS reset just told the system this is a fully charged battery. (but it obviously wasn't)

So yes Deep Sleep mode will for a bit not be enabled - it thinks your SOC is 100% now!

Except now the BMS charging strategy only attempting 65% at max, will allow your battery to drain even MORE before it feels the need to unsuccessfully attempt to stay at 65%, but it's actually much less.

Talk about crashing your battery into the ground. It is a great method to get a warranty replacement sooner though.

Ford’s SSM 53648 That addresses the battery drain concern in the hybrid EXPLICITLY tells us to perform a BMS reset. That’s what THEY call it. That’s why I used that term. By the way, youre correct. I should have stated that the battery should be fully charged for best results. But again, Ford uses the term BMS reset in ref to the 12v battery in the hybrid . That’s why I used the termšŸ˜€

Ya, I know they swap terms between customer facing manual and dealer facing documents, and not consistent at that.
No problemo.
And in reality the settings that are reset ARE in the BMS system, retained in a module running it.
I think the manual is more wrong.

Shoot - even the manual talks as if the BMS might be optional!

Battery Management System (If Equipped)
The system monitors battery conditions and takes actions to extend battery life. If excessive battery drain is detected, the system temporarily disables some electrical systems to protect the battery.
