No regrets on my XL! Having all the extra money allowed me to make my truck the way I wanted it, not the way ford thought it should be. Here's a good YouTube video...

Some years ago, I volunteered to fly out to LA and bring a company F-250 back to the Chicago area. Imagine my surprise when I started heading eastbound, cleared LA traffic, and found out those cheap bastards bought a truck WITHOUT cruise controlNot status symbol, comfort as a daily driver occasional hauler.
You got the truck that best fits your needs. It's sounds like you're happy with the lariat, it's features and that's all that matters. The OP wasn't meant to offend anyone who got a higher trim level, I appreciate and respect your choice. But this post was regarding those who purchased an xl. Here's a better post for you...Not status symbol, comfort as a daily driver occasional hauler. When I was working all up and down the east coast I had full size trucks 1 step above work truck. I had STX F150 or a CUstom Silverado. Why? If I was going to spend up to 12 hours driving to a job I wanted some comforts. When I bought the Maverick last month I no longer had use for a full size and I liked the Lariat features, I can afford the Lariat features, so I bought a Lariat. Here is my guiding principle I learned from my Dad. I cam into this world with no money and I am going out the same way!
I typically don't use cruise control, but I was sure glad to have it driving back from Grainger. Rolling hills make it a pain in the a** to maintain speed without it.Some years ago, I volunteered to fly out to LA and bring a company F-250 back to the Chicago area. Your financial approach differs greatly from mine. My grandparents put a few dollars in my savings before I could even spend money. I do the same for my grandchildren. I grew up driving open station tractors, so nearly any vehicle built in the last 90 years is more comfortable than driving one of these:Here is my guiding principle I learned from my Dad. I apologize. The post did not sound like a joke. You do realize a joke when you read it right? But serious question. Why would I worry about leaving money to children who stopped speaking to me and their now dead mother over politics? My granddaughter is my heir. But you do you and I will do me and just before my last breath, which I came close to in 2021, I don't want my last thought to be "at least I never spent on luxury for myself."
Glad to help, nothing to apologize for!Already read it. But thanks for searching for me. I know I am not able to do it myself. I was replying to Gray Goose who said it is a status symbol, not the OP. Sorry if I replied in the "XL ONLY" thread.
I'm sorry for your loss! Life is short and I'm glad you're enjoying it in you're lariatYou do realize a joke when you read it right? But serious question. I never use cruise. I flow with traffic. Some years ago, I volunteered to fly out to LA and bring a company F-250 back to the Chicago area. Imagine my surprise when I started heading eastbound, cleared LA traffic, and found out those cheap bastards bought a truck WITHOUT cruise control

My last ticket was in 1990.I drove from Maryland to Orlando two different time for a week long job, I have driven to Massachusetts from Virginia, Arkansas from Virginia, Southern Mississippi from Virginia and many more trips. Cruise is a must for long hauls if you don't want to pay a lot of tickets.
