My 2024 Lariat Hybrid went into deep sleep 3 out of the last 4 days. Sent an email to the Service Manager at my dealer and the reply is yet another kicking of the can down the road. There is yet another SSM. This is part of what was sent

The previously referenced SSM was superseded by one published today.

SSM 53648 2022-2025 Maverick - FHEV - Intermittent 12V Battery Drain When The Ignition Is Turned Off - Built On Or Before 17-Feb-2025
Some 2022-2025 Maverick vehicles equipped with 2.5L full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) powertrain and built on or before 17-Feb-2025 may experience an intermittent 12V battery drain condition when the ignition is turned off. If the 12V battery drains, perform a 12V power reset to the vehicle by disconnecting the 12V battery negative cable for 5 minutes. Fully charge the 12V battery and use the Rotunda GRX-3590 or DCA-8000 tester to determine if replacement is needed. If replacement is needed, fully charge the new battery and perform a battery monitor sensor (BMS) reset. Engineering is currently working on a software solution for this condition that is expected in the second quarter of 2025. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

Old news, same SSM, many threads on it.

Thanks for showing it's been updated to include the 2025MY.

Would be interesting to know what module they changed after Feb 17th that they stopped the intermittent drain overnight.

Thanks for the updated SSM information. I printed it to put in my Maverick, as it is going in for service next week for recalls, CSP, to have the CV axles and battery evaluated, and to get a broken sun visor clip fixed.
I will give this SSM to my dealer in hopes they test my battery correctly.

I own a 23 and 25 hybrid lariat I replaced both of the batteries with AGM batteries for less than $150 each by myself. I Did the battery reset and haven’t had an issue since they clearly used an underpower battery in a hybrid that needs to call on the battery more than they figured you’ll solve all your problems by biting the bullet and tossing in some nice new batteries under your rear seat I waited over a year to do it on the first truck and I’m sad. I waited.

Struggling with similar issues. Dealer isn’t tracking the known issue. I also experienced the expected shutdown of door touch sensors. I did find a really really long drive and daily driving (doesn’t like to sit) helps keep sensors active. I am also experiencing less electric capacity. Doesn’t switch as much in town driving and doesn’t last as long when it does switch. Definitely seams like a software and battery issue. Sucks! I Love my Maverick but if this only gets worse not sure if I will keep it. Time will tell.

Just the fact that they included the 2025 model year up to a very specific build date is evidence that they likely determined that physical vehicle hardware, as well as programming was necessary to solve the deep sleep problem. Since 2025 models all came with AGM batteries and they have included 2025 models in this newest SSM, the AGM replacement was not the holy grail of the fix like some on here are preaching. It will be interesting to find out what changes Ford made in the charging circuit after February 17, 2025 build dates so that those newest vehicles are not going to suffer the deep sleep problems that most of us have had to put up with for so long.

Or that was just around when that SSM revision was released.

The SSM isn't about deep sleep problem of low voltage due to poor charging method.

It's about an infrequent battery drain issue. That they are no longer going to pay for troubleshooting on.
The instructions then test if the battery was ruined due to it. Which enough drains will do.

Just wanting to point out what I think is a rumor on a specific phrased SSM.
Hope I'm wrong.

2 different batteries you are referring to there in your comments.

Why would a dealer track a known issue with no fix?
Keep reading amongst the Similar threads below. (well, not windshield, not sure why that's there)

Your 25 Hybrid did NOT have an AGM in it already?

Picture of what was in it?

You'd be the first to have FLA from comments made so far.

25 hybrid did have an AGM battery, but I got one with 200 more cold cranking amps and I just wanted to be safe so I dropped it in there as well. Never had an issue with either one of them after I went to the more powerful AGM I need to be able to pre-to cool the car in Arizona by turning it on and the sleep issue was killing that so spending 125 bucks for a battery on 35K vehicle seem like a minor inconvenience since the batteries only last about a year and a half in Arizona anyway
I’ll probably be able to get a new one for free in two years with the warranty on this one so I’m good

Why would you need a battery with higher cold cranking amps? The 12v battery does not get a high current drain since the hybrid does not have a starter motor.

Nice....They just keep stacking bullshit verbiage and no fix. It's like oh yeah, oh well we know. It's ok you have a warranty, no worries.

The Ford Quality or lack of shit show. They just had 2 more recalls this week. Thank goodness not on a Maverick again.

Because it has inherent latency that we see hybrids need since they perform cooling and heating functions The first generation non AGM batteries didn’t have enough latency to keep any appreciable charge so that the backup features couldn’t activate often times disabling the Ford pass app as well. It’s just a deeper well.
