So my wife says, can you fit the crockpot inside the Maverick along with a few other things and I said sure no problem … not being sure really I ventured outside and started by pushing the front passenger seat forward meanwhile, I’m thinking I’ll be able to flip the backseat bottom up while I maneuver the full crockpot to the floorboard. I got agitated a few times before putting stuff under the rear seat bottom and having to use my shoulder to keep the seat bottom up so I gave it a good shove towards the seat back and Wala! It latched in the upward position !!! Then I released it by simply pulling the same loop that’s used to unlatch it. ….
I thought silly me must have missed it in the owners manual, but I couldn’t find anything in the owners manual describing the seat bottom stays latched in the up position.. Bonus !! I thought to myself

Shame on your salesman for not showing you this when you took delivery / test drive of your truck.

The back seat back flips down as well. I've been told that's where Ford hid the jack.
Right, that little bag also includes the rods to lower the spare wheel. It's one of the first things I did after taking ownership, take out the spare wheel to see what's involved, you don't want to be messing with instructions etc in a real situation. In that area behind the seat you have room for quite a bit of stuff, wheel chocks, and other emerg stuff, I always carry a small piece of 3/4" plywood for resting under the jack.

That's a great idea, never though of carrying a platform for the jack.

Smart! I picked up a piece of scrap iron (it's about 8' X 8" X 1/4") from a local welders shop years ago and it has transferred from vehicle to vehicle over the years ever since I had to change a flat in the Texas summer heat and the jack base just pushed right through the asphalt into the ground while tying to crank up the car ;)

Thanks, for the good ideas.

Not sue I would call that little Widow Maker a jack. Please don't use that unless you absolutely have to. ☹
Oh heck, I used to use a bumper jack on my rusty 68 Impala to crawl under and wire up my exhaust with a coat hanger. It's called evolution (not sure how I slid through).
